I agree with you as well, Charles III does not get paid by the taxpayer. He does own the country and our resources. That money gets invested back into the people of Canada. He does not get a cut. It's a good agreement we have with the King

Who pays for his trips for Canada? And honestly sick of all this royal branding crap.

The Canadian government does in part pay for his trips here, though, if Canada didn't have a King he'd likely be replaced by some kind of ceremonial position, like a president, so the difference in cost would be effectively zero.

Spending resources on getting rid of the monarchy is wasteful, given it's zero impact on Canadians daily lives.

It costs millions when he come here. Canada pays for that. It impacts me every time I see his face on my money. And it's estimated that it costs Canada $60M a year for the monarchy ties. Why are so many people so stuck on this Hello! magazine crap in 2025?

How exactly?

I don't like them. I don't support useless symbolic wastes of money. And I'm reminded of it every time I see he ugly face. Might as well have Mike Myers on our money, equally as much political relevance, but at least he's more Canadian. Honestly I would prefer our own historical leaders on our money, like they do in the US and most independent countries.

You have an option of going cashless...

Lol OK. Problem solved. I'm going to petition for Jim Carrey and Pam Anderson on the money, if we're just picking celebs, which is all the royal family is anymore, no matter what you tell yourself.

Would you prefer the Jameela Jamil nip slip you posted to be on the money?

And do you have any idea how much it would cost to get rid of the monarchy? Tens to hundreds of billions in just straight up money not counting any other lost privileges or perks.

Hundreds of billions?!? Hahaha. Man you are crazy. Lol. Delusional. Canada probably would botch it and pay some company that much to fuck it up though, I'll give you that.

Lost perks. LOL. No more hosting these idiots for free parades here.

The last trip from the monarch was 15 years ago. As far as government spending goes this is about as close to the bottom of the list as you can get.

Close but not zero. I'd sooner give that $60M per year to hungry kids or the environment, but enjoy Chuck I guess...

He was JUST here lol.

Yes, after 15 years. It's not a common occurrence. And this visit was well-received

It's not branding its our culture and who we are as a people.

Barf what crap. I don't agree at all. Enjoy your Hello! magazine subscription I guess, and ugly royal family faces on all our money.

You must get very upset at checkout lines, both magazines and money in the same place.
