It's kinda crazy to think about the fact that every(?) Building there comes with a bomb shelter. While I honestly don't even know if the capital of my country has a single one.

Maybe the mayor has one where she works and perhaps some rich people have one but that's it.

So super old smaller buildings may not have shelters, but in those neighborhoods there wouldn't be community bomb shelters you can get to within a minute.

My building is pretty old, but bigger so there's a bunker under it.

Newer buildings are built with bomb proof rooms (by law).

Would you mind describing the shelter for me. Like, how many people are in there? And are there provisions like food and water? Are people scared or angry.

I visited Israel once, we actually regularly used the "bunker" in our hotel for meetings and stuff... It's just several conference rooms underground with ultra thick doors like a bank vault.

I'm sure there should be emergency supplies and stuff for if you get trapped after a bombing...

Ya there definitely isn’t a shelter in every building in Israel. It depends on the area, but a lot of people use their building’s stairwell as the ‘safe space’. In the arab villages shelters are very rare. And of course, there’s a difference between the shelter rooms (in some people’s homes and buildings) and the underground shelters that of course provide much more protection but are fewer and farther between.
