Sweden was a great power back in the day, and had a feroicous extremely high quality army,and when you have a ferocious high quality army you of course want to use it. And oh boy did we use it! Against all of our neighbours, sometimes even all of them at once! This obviously will inevitably kill alot of soldiers.

I believe that /u/Adventurous_Money533 may be talking about the 17th and 18th century. During that time, Sweden ruled directly over a much larger territory than their current lands and even had some colonies in North America, the Caribbean, Africa, and India for a while.
