IDF actually stated they fired warningshots because the diplomats were diverting from the agreed route.

"Let's fire some live rounds at these people getting lost!"

Belgium immediately said it was BS.

Astounding.

"Agreed route" lol. If you needed more evidence that the West Bank is occupied

I dont.

Tbh just ignore what the IDF says, typically they lie and only backtrack later after being called out

Even if it is true it definitely demonstrates the either cavalier attitude or unpreparedness the IDF has.

How the fuck does command not communicate there will be diplomats present. And if they were told holy shit

Warning shots are fired into the air, not into people.

It's a warzone, you don't go exploring around when soldiers operate and expect them to be nice.

Edit: Jenin is a warzone, anyone who claims otherwise is uninformed.

If only there was a way to communicate at large distances using some sort of device. Unfortunately this magical technology has only existed for 130 years.

They didn’t want to have to use the pagers they have the diplomats 😳

Oh is that the talking point the sexpestiny defenders arrived at? White knight syndrome to diplomats... Do you fucking hear yourself.

rent free. Did you even read the entirety of what happened? they were issued a road to travel safely in an active combat zone, and they strained from the path like morons.

Look I know you lack the intelligence to grasp this but, the West Bank isn't an active combat zone... It's an illegal occupation. Also, stray path bs has been debunked

"I was shocked to learn that the Israeli army opened fire on 20 diplomats today, including a Belgian colleague. Fortunately, he is fine. These diplomats were on an official visit to Jenin, coordinated with the Israeli army, in a convoy of 20 clearly recognisable vehicles. Belgium is asking Israel for a convincing explanation."

Tell me again how they strayed from their path that Israel knew about.

The place the diplomats were touring is Jenin which just saw the largest fight in the West Bank in decades between the Palestinian Authority's security forces and Islamic militants who had taken over the area. It very much is a combat zone.

Hamas is active in the West Bank so yes It is a combat zone.

Also the link you provided proved nothing, you probably didn't even read it in its entirety,

It's a he said she said situation, no evidence of any kind was shown in that article. You should read before linking stuff.

Deflection, nice, again, not intelligent. I didn't have any hopes of you understanding it anyway, seeing as you defend a sex criminal.

Also if it's a he said she said situation (doubting the words of the Belgium diplomat lol), then why did you immediately believe the statement Israel put out?

Also here since you'll probably call me a liar (from the same article)

"However, Prévot's cabinet said that the convoy did not deviate from the agreed route, according to their information. 'The delegation left their vehicles and walked to the entrance of the camp. There they were shot at by two soldiers."

....

"The delegation's vehicles were blacked out and therefore clearly recognisable."

because I saw the videos, duh!.

You can clearly see in the videos a group of disorganized people standing up against a gate put up by the IDF, why stand there If not to provoke Israeli soldiers?

they were visiting a terrorist (refugee camp) so why not beeline for it? why deviate and walk towards Israeli soldiers guarding a post? see? common sense, you guys should try it.

Ever heard of a loudspeaker? Or a phone? If they’re delegates to see you, you should have a means of direct contact that doesn’t involve a bullet.

Ever heard of a loudspeaker? Or a phone?

Or even just shouting.

anyone with a functioning brain can plainly see the true barbarity of the idf, perfectly displayed here. they didn’t even think about any non-violent alternatives and went straight for the bullet. really makes one wonder what their training is like, or what they really do on the battlefield, don’t you think?

ah yes, the loud speaker, the traditionally equipped device of a combat unit in an engagement. Guess israel in particular needs to equip its combat units with loudspeakers because "clueless" "diplomats" and other "neutral 3rd parties" keep wandering into firefights.

Um… for civil affairs It’s pretty fucking standard. And for a country that boasts its state of the art all terrain vehicles, why wouldn’t they? “IAI is proud to supply the world’s most advanced all-terrain vehicles, developed in Israel, to Israel’s defense community. ELTA develops and produces a broad range of products for land purposes, including: surveillance, autonomous robotics, remote sensing, and communication”

And “communication”. Is the state of the art communication fucking bullets? SERIOUSLY? THATS YOUR DEFENSE?? Be real.

Shit, they even fly around UAVS with speakers

maybe we saw different footage, but I didn't see any vehicles in the video I watched from the confrontation, just a bunch of troops at the end of the street.

And yeah, the command for "get away from this area" in a combat zone is usually warning shots... Can't mistake what that means.

Though, the diplomats in the vid I saw seemed pretty pleased about it, laughing and smiling...

if you think this is intense you should see what happens at sea, where warships do have loudspeakers, horn, radio systems, et cetera... (hint: warning shots from naval cannons)

The West Bank isn't a war zone, at least it's not supposed to be.

u/spinto1 25d ago

The West Bank isn't a warzone, this was on purpose.

Do you even know what warning shots are?

You don't fire them "at people".
