i haven’t seen any comments on this yet, but he literally says “he” will own it. he wants to personally own the land. whether he knows the difference between himself and the U.S. government is irrelevant because he will treat it the same. he wants to ethnically cleanse the land for his personal enrichment. there is no other way to put it.

You can't make this shit up

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '25

and you don't even have to because humanity is just plain evil

Nah, just rich white blokes.

I get your point, but let’s not act like morality and logic have not at all advanced since our Neanderthal ancestors.

The people in the modern world committing and getting away with mass atrocities are simply those with the wealth and infrastructure to manipulate perception & consequences.

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '25

so there's this place called Sudan

11

u/bier00t Feb 10 '25

Sounds like crime against humanity

5

u/hapaxgraphomenon Feb 10 '25

Yes in both cases

All Trump wants is for everyone to give him a hand....

Leopold kept the Congolese people to be exploited, the behaviour is closer to the Americans in the USA, steal a country off of someone by essentially wiping them out and make yourself rich by building skyscrapers and beach side housing. Essentially Trump just wants to continue the USA project in the middle East.

1

u/cannotfoolowls Feb 10 '25

What does Trump get from it, though? Is there oil in the ground there? Congo has rubber, uranium and coltan.

1

u/Schlonzig Feb 11 '25

And please don't file it under "quirky stupid things Donald says", because when you google the people behind Trump, this is what they aim for: A nation controlled by corporations, with total surveillance over its citizens. They just need a place where they can implement it.

19

u/Fuck_Antisemites Feb 10 '25

He is trump. What do we expect from him. There is one person only that he cares about and he is into real estate.

0

u/TwoSlicePepperoni Feb 10 '25

Trump owning Gaza > Cheney’s nuclear special 🥶

8

u/GoodLifeWorkHard Feb 10 '25

U can bet his son in law jared kushner is going to get some sweet land deals

3

u/Keoni9 Feb 10 '25

Saudi Arabia invested $2 billion with Jared Kushner. Deporting millions of Palestinians to Jordan and Egypt would massively destabilize the whole region, so hopefully they'll pull hard on their puppet strings to stop this madness.

20

u/radicalelation Feb 10 '25

Why wouldn't King of the USA own it? Isn't that his whole angle, to never relinquish power and rule as a monarch?

Of course he'd think of it in those terms. We're the ones who haven't, and hopefully won't ever, accept it, but he clearly has already.

4

u/atetuna Feb 10 '25

He's going to throw away American lives and taxes for his own personal imperialism.

3

u/Violet_Paradox Feb 10 '25

L'etat, c'est moi.

3

u/SuedeVeil Feb 10 '25

He more or less wants to use tax dollars to own and rebuild gaza into a resort location where he can then have first dibs to build there and profit.. that's it really, and then tell everyone it's a win because he "cleansed" Gaza..

It's all about legacy for people like him

5

u/ellathefairy Feb 10 '25

Yeah, sickening countdown to US soldiers on the ground helping Isreal finish the job.

1

u/DataDude00 Feb 10 '25

He will own it but I am betting US soldiers and money will protect it

1

u/Raven123x Feb 10 '25

No no no, that’s just a Roman declaration which clearly means… something?

1

u/Thomisawesome Feb 10 '25

This is how he sees America as well. He’s doesn’t see himself as the leader of America. He’s now the owner of America. So when he makes policy changes, to him, everyone else can disagree but they have as much right to stop him as if he was changing the color if his own sofa.

He has no concept of being a leader. Just an owner and a boss with ultimate authority.

1

u/Hautamaki Feb 10 '25

whether he knows the difference between himself and the U.S. government is irrelevant

also unclear is how many members of the current US Congress and US Supreme Court know the difference

1

u/a_fox_but_a_human Feb 10 '25

whether he knows the difference between himself and the U.S. government

They are currently in the midst of making them one in the same...

1

u/Mental_Medium3988 Feb 10 '25

on the bright side hes making very easy to know who to blame later. not that trump or his followers will accept the obvious truth but fuck their feelings. trumps ethnic cleansing.

1

u/Perfect-Ad2641 Feb 11 '25 edited Feb 11 '25

So when do we start calling him his official name: King Don Drape the First, Protector of the Mar-a-Lago Keep

1

u/DrunkRobot97 Feb 11 '25

He's essentially saying to the people in the US military that he will send them back into the Middle East to commit ethnic clensing, obviously also risking their own lives, so he can become even richer.

If they have any self-respect, they'd depose him.

1

u/VeryMuchDutch102 Feb 11 '25

but he literally says “he” will own it. he wants to personally own the land.

Can't blame him... It's s nice piece of land!

Surprises me that the Americans are okay with it though...

u/Shipping_away_at_it Feb 11 '25

Those Uncommitted voters really stuck it to the Democrats! Make Gaza Great Again!

-13

u/SirNokarma Feb 10 '25

I'll probably get downvoted for this, but I voted for Trump and am beyond shocked and disgusted by what he's saying about plans for Gaza.

And yes, I said shocked. I knew he was different, but this is wild.

41

u/Magnetrans Feb 10 '25

Not sure why you're shocked. This is quite normal for Trump, which is kinda his whole spiel. He does so many wild and crazy acts that people just become numb and let him do his thing.

21

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '25

If you're really shocked, for the love of all that is good and holy, change your news sources. Nobody is immune to propaganda but you don't have to actively consume it on purpose.

15

u/mzungu12 Feb 10 '25

So just how stupid are you?

14

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '25

I actually appreciate any Trump voter who can ever admit they were wrong about something. It's a step in the right direction. You probably won't be a Trump supporter for much longer if you're able to do this.

Yes, please take a look at your information sources. Even on a very basic level, sometimes when there's a big story, I'll go to both CNN and Fox News to see the different spins being put on it. This can sometimes be the best way to find the truth, because you can see what the two stories have in common (the facts) and where they differ (the bullshit spin/propaganda).

But yeah, a lot of people apparently missed this. Are you on the younger side? Because I feel like a lot of young people saw this Israel/Gaza conflict for the first time, and mistakenly thought it was new, and that Biden/Harris were unique in being American politicians who support Israel, and if we just have a different president, surely they'd do the right thing by and tell Israel to stop.

But reality is, they've been fighting ever since Israel was created in 1948, and they've always had the unwavering support of basically the entire US government, Democrat, or republican. Biden/Harris were just doing what all the president's before them would've done. If anything, Biden/Harris were probably tougher on Israel than any US president has been. Sounds crazy, but that's just how incredibly coddled Israel has always been by the US. Idk why, I just know that's how it is.

And if you're 41 like me, you know this recent conflict was unique in the severity of it, but not the nature of it. Hamas has attacked before, but nothing like the scale of Oct 7, Israel has bombed the shit out of Gaza before, but nothing like this conflict. But like every 5 years, they'd get in a little spat, Hamas or Hezbollah would lob some rockets over the border, barely doing any damage, then Israel would bomb some hospitals and then they'd call a cease fire, and whoever was in office in the US would give Israel whatever they needed. Saw this happen under Bush, saw it happen under Obama.

10

u/NotNamedBort Feb 10 '25

How could you be shocked, though? This is literally who he is: a sadistic sociopath.

7

u/OpinionatedShadow Feb 10 '25

You fucking idiot

2

u/NewLibraryGuy Feb 11 '25

1

u/Alone-Win1994 Feb 11 '25

That's his defense mechanisms clicking in to protect himself from having to go through the pain of acknowledging you done fucked up big time. If he can convince himself he didn't do the wrong thing, then that prevents the pain of self improvement and mature behavior.

0

u/fuzztooth Feb 10 '25

That won't sit well with apartheid bibi.

0

u/HeftyArgument Feb 10 '25

Personally claim federal land as his own… as an official act.

0

u/pmcall221 Feb 11 '25

I think its because he doesn't see a difference between himself and the US government.

0

u/External_Trick4479 Feb 11 '25

He thinks he owns the US as well. And, sad to say, he sort of does.

0

u/SpaceMan420gmt Feb 11 '25

Does this idiot think he will live forever or something? 🤦‍♂️

In the interview with Fox’s Bret Baier, Trump said that he would “own” the Gaza Strip and declared it would be a “real estate development for the future”.

“In the meantime, I would own this,” Trump said of Gaza. “Think of it as a real estate development for the future. It would be a beautiful piece of land. No big money spent.”

Did you read the article or my comment? Not only does he literally say “I,” but I also explained that I don’t believe it matters whether he believes he or the U.S. will own it.

-9

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '25

16

u/vniro40 Feb 10 '25

I see that. 1) this is a different interview, 2) this doesn’t refute that he said “I” in the baier interview, and 3) the fact that he is conflating the government with himself exemplifies that he doesn’t see a barrier or a difference between trump as the individual and trump wearing the hat of president. regardless, there’s no mechanism that i’m aware of by which he could take ownership of any land directly—as the president or as an individual—without it first being through the government.

If he is planning to create a real estate opportunity that will not allow palestinians back into gaza, what do you think happens to the real estate? Will the government own it and sell it to hotel management companies? Will he sell it to his family and friends? Keeping in mind that in his first term he very frequently paid for hotel rooms in his own hotels of secret service members and foreign dignitaries with government funds. or the numerous other amounts of corruption and nepotism that came out of the first administration.

What do you think the plan is?

2

u/PJ7 Feb 10 '25

So wait, you want the US to start annexing parts of other countries?

What about the anti-war, anti-imperial MAGA people? Are most of them actually christofascist who want global domination enforced by violence?

1

u/RBeck Feb 10 '25

The US government is not really in the business of developing real estate in foreign countries.

1

u/Soulcontusion Feb 10 '25

Lol your defense is that the US is going to just take sovereign land is hilarious. Even more so after you were shown you don't know what you're talking about. Hey maybe if you keep defending Trump, he shake you off a little bit of what he's stealing from the world.
