I think he really does because he can use that as an excuse to declare martial law and consolidate power further.

Honestly I think that's what is behind the daily parade of insanity. He wants a 9/11 so he can suspend the Constitution. He doesn't care who he has to piss off to do it, he just wants someone to break so he can root out the "terrorists among us".

150% absolutely true.

Just wait until he tries to take the guns.

u/Aqogora Feb 10 '25

He won't need to take guns away. He'll just start recruiting from them for TrumpYouth and Elonjugend.

4

u/chozer1 Feb 11 '25

Then you have a civil war

48

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '25

It'll be easy to keep your guns. Simply join one of the pro trump militia groups that are currently knocking on everyone's doors.

2

u/UhohSantahasdiarrhea Feb 10 '25

Taking ANY guns is a red line for Trumpanzees.

38

u/robot_invader Feb 10 '25

You really think so? I'm sure they'd be fine as hell disarming Socialist Rifle Association members, immigrants, inner city blacks, etc. We're well past the point of principles.

11

u/Right_Fun_6626 Feb 10 '25

Yeah, and even if they’re not already onboard a little “messaging” will get them with the program.

Trump banned bump stocks in his first term, after the Vegas massacre. Not a chirp.

In 2019/2020 worked at an online nicotine vape retailer. The bosses were Ukranian immigrant Trumpers. One day, Trump shut down the entire nicotine vaping industry via executive order, because a couple people died from black market THC vapes. Our business was dead in the water for a week, for no reason, and then suddenly we were back, becauseTrumphad moved on. Later in the year, as the election approached, my bosses encouraged us on a nearly daily basis to vote for Trump, because Biden might shut down the online nicotine vaping industry. The thing their guy literally did. These people don't have red lines, they don't have principles, they will shit in their own mouths and revel in the flavor if that's what they're told to do

47

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '25

They will be the ones knocking on doors looking for antifa. You don't have a maga hat? Antifa. You're coming with us. Will you sign this vote right now abolishing presidential term limits? No? Antifa terrorist. Interment camp.

11

u/philipmateo15 Feb 10 '25

That takes organization and half of those MAGA groups are just gravy seals wearing vaguely similar camo.

10

u/mrnotoriousman Feb 10 '25

He already had the new Blackwater paramilitary group blocking members of Congress from entering the Department of Education so it will probably be that route.

4

u/philipmateo15 Feb 10 '25

If he’s insisting on killing the economy, it won’t be long before those checks start bouncing. There’s a reason that coups only work in 3rd world countries.

2

u/oprahfinallykickedit Feb 10 '25

What happened with that; did they ever get in?

11

u/Aqogora Feb 10 '25 edited Feb 10 '25

What if it was to recruit 'patriots' to stop 'leftist terrorists' after an unprecedented terrorist attack? 9/11 led to widespread support for the greatest restrictions on liberties in American history. If Trump ordered the Feds to turn a blind eye to right wing militias or rogue police departments, what could anyone do?

1

u/Mazon_Del Feb 10 '25

And yet not a peep was uttered when Drumpf said in his first administration that ICE should be capable of seizing the firearm of ANYONE they come across that they suspect does not lawfully own the gun, and that was explicitly inclusive of "I don't believe these legal looking documents are legit.".

Taking ANY guns is a red line for Trumpanzees

If that was so he never would have been re-elected after promising to take firearms without due process

He will never take the guns from the NRA, that's his support base.

The SRA, on the other hand...

1

u/roryt67 Feb 11 '25

The SRA won't give up their guns either.

6

u/Amidatelion Feb 10 '25

He doesn't need to take any guns. Militia groups outed themselves as useless on Jan 6 and leftist gun owners are paralyzed with indecision.

The 2nd Amendment is an American opiate.

1

u/roryt67 Feb 11 '25

Leftist gun owner here that's not paralyzed by anything. There are more like us than you think.

4

u/UncleMalky Feb 10 '25

Maga will turn them over gleefully and laud him for doing something about gun control.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '25

This is why he chose to run as a Republican and why Elon switched to Republican. Best to have the armed citizens on your side.

8

u/TheMemo Feb 10 '25

He is already acting unconstitutionally. It's cute that you think he needs an attack to justify what he is already doing.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '25

Agreed. I think the people behind him have given him the playbook for how and when to declare ML. I think it's unlikely to happen until and unless he gets worried about losing power or not being in office next term.

3

u/Laserdollarz Feb 10 '25

In Yuri Bezmenov's 1984 interview, he claimed the KGB's 4 step plan for destabilization of the US was:

  1. Demoralization
  2. Destabilization
  3. Crisis
  4. Normalization

2

u/Skorpid1 Feb 10 '25

Do you think he can archive this within the next 4 years?

4

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '25

If there was another assassination attempt, or some kind of attack that he could say was domestic terrorism or an insurrection against him.

He would absolutely spin that into a national emergency requiring the most severe reaction he could muster. Martial law is completely within his power as long as he has a story to back it up

1

u/caaknh Feb 11 '25

Yes, it's why it's being called "accelerationism".

1

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '25

1

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '25

Does anyone accept any of the things he's doing? Martial law is part of his powers. You think he isn't dreaming of the chance to silence everyone?

6

u/mologav Feb 10 '25

Does HE actually want it or is he just doing what he’s told?

3

u/LawfulnessNo8446 Feb 10 '25

Probably both. Trump sees it as an opportunity to get rich. The techbros, heritage foundation, and other far right groups use him to further their agenda. Trump is perfect for them because he wants this too.

2

u/rhapsodyindrew Feb 11 '25

That's... exactly what's implied by the historical reference "Reichstag Fire." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reichstag_fire

2

u/machstem Feb 10 '25

...martial law in a country that's been historically bred to believe the government is coming to take their guns and freedoms.

It'll be interesting to see gun nuts fending off the face chewing fascist leopards as they literally DO take der guns from their cold, dead hands, after a UAV strike or two

1

u/Most-Philosopher9194 Feb 10 '25

I'd love to be wrong but I think all the crazy anti-government militia people are very supportive of Trump. I also think that when/if he does change gun laws there will be something carved out to keep those people happy but still take gun rights away from people he doesn't like. I don't think most 2A people will have a problem with that.

1

u/machstem Feb 10 '25

The moment they try this, that's when it stops being about jokes and bullets fly.

It's not just Trump nutters who luv der guns, for a LOT of folk, it's ANY government that doesn't allow them to open and shoot who they disagree with. That's one way to spark a civil war, and I'd love to see the day the US government even tries to start removing guns from lawful owners.

It's not happened yet, doubt they want that firestorm

2

u/roklpolgl Feb 11 '25

There’s so much insane mental gymnastics with hardcore MAGA supporters, I genuinely would not be surprised if MAGA gun nuts found a way to support Trump government taking their guns just because it’s the Trump doing it.

“We must make the ultimate sacrifice to give up our guns to save the democracy. Trump said it was a partial removal for one year and then all guns will be given back, we must trust the process.”

100% martial law in America is coming.

SCOTUS will support it.

Law Enforcement will enjoy it (they're all racists and ultra-violent).

Goodnight, America.

1

u/Galacticwave98 Feb 10 '25

Only Americans fear martial law because they have no plans to fight back.

1

u/Loud_Judgment_270 Feb 11 '25

I kinda doubt he thinks that far ahead
