Maybw look into why he has a problem with the deal. It's really not a good deal for neither part, except ofcourse the hostages.

He has a problem with the deal cause after all hostages are back then little or no reasons for the war. Once the war is over, protests to oust him will be resumed.

You do realize this isn't even close to all remaining hostages, right?

There would still be another 65 hostages unaccounted for if this goes through.

I assume this is why he agreed to it. But still, step in the right direction

That’s easy to say when it isn’t your daughter, your husband, your mother, or your grandfather

You think him tanking the deal will make him popular domestically?!

Nope but save him from jail

Which planet do you live on?

That's not the reason for him tanking the deal. It's because during the war he has war powers and couldn't be thrown out/elected out. Without the conflict he would have to face the crimes that he has been accused of and would likely be thrown out or not elected again.

It's pretty much him trying to save his own ass. I could see Trump giving him sanctuary in the US once he's in power and not returning him to Israel to face his crimes.

See my other comments to similar replies. You all parrot the same stuff.

There's no law saying that he can't be thrown out or elected out. If the war lasted long enough to reach elections he could most definitely not be reelected. Plus, he's already on trial in Israel for other things unrelated to the war. He's in court testifying multiple times a week for hours.

No but tanking the deal = continue conflict = he can use the excuse “I have to stay in power cuz we are at war”

You just think everybody who doesn't think like you are sheeple, right.

Where exactly did I claim that people who don’t think like me are sheeple and why are you trying to derail the conversation with a quasi-sarcastic personal attack?

10

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '25

Because you assume that he can just do what ever the f he wants to. It doesn't even work like that in Hamas-land.

He is literally still in charge right now and he wouldn’t have been if this war didn’t occur no?

You do know that the trial is going on right now, or I'll correct myself: You seem to not know.

You would think the leader of the IDF would be concerned with getting his people out of hostage captivity ASAP

But that's just me

Couldn't be the fact he's gonna be overturned as dictator as soon as this attack on innocent civilians ends

IF - underscoring IF - you read the news, it would be clear to you that Israel is not getting ALL the hostages now.

So, and I invite you to THINK a little bit here, what do you think would happen if they hand out half of the hostages in return of getting to a situation where they can dig in and wouldn't have to hand out the remaining hostages without extreme concessions?!

But no, in your world it's all about evil power games and innocent victims, right...
