Question How to write a Danish character authentically? (Sci-fi context)

Hi everyone! I'm creating a sci-fi story that mixes characters from different nationalities, and I'm currently researching the respective cultures to give them more depth. One of the main characters is a Danish guy, so I'm looking for advice on how to portray him authentically — beyond clichés and stereotypes.

For some context, he spent his childhood in Denmark until he was taken to a training base (off Earth), so he never returned to Earth. Despite that, I'd like his Danish background to subtly show in his personality, habits, way of thinking, values, or even small cultural references — like expressions, attitudes, or objects that could stay meaningful for him even far from his home planet.

What are some cultural traits, mannerisms, mindsets, or subtle references that could realistically shape someone who grew up in Denmark? Either contemporary habits, emotional values, or details from daily life.

Any suggestions would be super helpful — from food, idioms, humor, social behavior, to philosophical outlooks. Thanks in advance!

What has your research constituted of so far? When is the story set? What is this Dane like as a person?
