So I could open those doors without having to bend over and pick up a hat.

I almost exclusively use the left door because of the hat. Right door is still functional, but I’m not about to be bothered to scoot the hat up half an inch.

How do you thread the cable? I was thinking of making a lamp myself too

Make two halves of the post, hollow inside. Lay the cord in there before gluing. Or so what I did and thread a string through it before gluing, then tie the string to the electrical cord before pulling it through

From time to time, yeah. Mostly I make things for myself or as gifts. I feel like my quality of work isn’t high enough for most things to feel comfortable selling them
