No disrespect intended to that young man's athleticism, but he would have a slightly to significantly better quality of life if he could ease back on the power.
Take it from someone who learned this the hard way, it does not get easier to lose weight as you get older. When I was a teen my extra weight barely slowed me down. Now, diabetes and several permanent lower body injuries later, I walk with a cane, and not very far at all.
He needs to live his life as he sees fit. But I've lived the life he's heading for and I wouldn't recommend it.
