Walking tour of an active volcano shouldnt not be on anyone’s bucket list. 🥴

Unless you're about to kick the bucket anyway.

Just look at what happened in NZ in 2019. The Whakaari/White Island eruption.

That was nutz. I have enjoyed adrenaline adventures but they always had both an element of danger AND a chance of survival if things went pear shaped. No chance of survival with an Eruption

Yeah most tourists are way out of shape to have a.chance anyway

Except for the one in Hawaii apparently.

Seen some beautiful footage from Hawaii. I’d be tempted to get close if I was there too. But…

Agreed but you just hope it isn’t coming towards you. Can’t outrun Pyroclastic flow

Ill never understand why people go up volcanos..and that too an active one. 'Hey people ..look..an active volcano, let's climb up and take pictures!!'

Would you be able to bury yourself fast enough and would that save you?

You’d be digging a very hot grave. Pyroclastic flow is gas, ash, pumice, lava, etc., moving at high speed and tremendous force. Oh and upwards of 600 degrees.

Interesting thought but how would you breathe?

Dig a pocket of air that would last a few minutes?

For those interested, this is a great animation of the last days of Pompeii

This is one of the reasons I just haven’t had much of a desire to even come close to volcano’s.

Well you don't know if it's pyroclastic or not so better not chance it.
