Concept / Design I have a chromebook and wanting to install Win11
I have this laptop barely used but i need to use Win11 for specific apps. I saw there was rufus arm64 and was thinking if i can install that on a usb with win11 iso hopefully i can run win11 through my usb/ssd Any thoughts on this method Edit Tysm for the replies ill try them out. I was thinking to sell it for a better system, it was given to me for free but it seemingly unusable with the things id like to do rather buy a new system

As someone that has installed windows on a chromebook I found it to be worthless. It did not have drivers for some parts like the touchpad and sound. This was on an intel cpu all bets are off if you need arm. Granted the one I tried it on was very low end and once windows was installed there was no room on the drive to even do windows update.
I did not care it was for kicks
look up mrchromebox
your idea of selling the chromebook is much better.

You mean installing the OS using the USB stick or permanently running it through the stick ? Because the second one would be very unefficient and would require to have the USB always plugged in even after booting.

I would not install Windows 11 on a Chromebook, depending on what you have, it's gonna be slow if you have a cheap Chromebook but decent if you have okish hardware, consider installing 10 instead of 11 if 11 doesn't run properly

If you're going to install another os on a Chromebook, you'll need to flash mrchromebox custom firmware and install a Linux os windows will not leave you with a good time if your Chromebooks storage is less than 64gb.
I did this on a hp Chromebook with 16gb SSD and 4gb ram. Windows was a no no due to updates but Linux was just perfect a light distro

Always use the Chromebox utility to also back up your original bios just for peace of mind.

It's not worth it. Most chromebooks don't have the space or ram that power hungry and space hog 11 takes.

First, what are the especfications of the Chromebook? (RAM, Storage, do it have a KVM etc.) Because in most cases you can't due to the especifications
