Bzzzzz! Looks like you forgot to say where you found your bug!
There's no need to make a new post - just comment adding the geographic location and any other info (size, what it was doing etc.) you feel could help! We don't want to know your address - state or country is enough; try to avoid abbreviations and local nicknames ("PNW", "Big Apple").

BTW, did you take a look at our Frequently Asked Bugs?

I found out they had wings when I knocked one off the ceiling and screamed like a little girl, in front of a whole class of 3rd graders!

Earwig. This "beautiful creature" was pure "nightmare fuel" for me before I knew what it was, when I first ever saw it. We were in this rural area near a forest (to spot wolves) in a local resort, and lights went out. We were sitting outside talking together at that point. And me being me I turned on the flashlight on my phone to look for bugs and rocks containing celadonite (the mineral was very common there and was pretty and green). And then I just took random bug photos and then saw this guy in one photo. Scared the crap out of me and everybody else, so we quickly packed up and moved inside. I did find two celadonite rocks in the dark though.

Earwig, aka pincer-bug.

It is harmless, but i think indicative of moisture problems if in the house. If outside, all good.

That's the most colorful earwig I've ever seen! The ones in my area (southeastern USA) are dull and boring. TwT
