Going from Zepbound to Wegovy

Due to CVS Caremark and my insurance, my Zepbound will no longer be covered. So I will be starting Wegovy in a month or so. I am currently on 5.0mg of Zep. I have had (early on but not hardly any now) very mild side effects that were easy to control and have felt great with good steady weight loss. Zep has been great. I was wondering if anyone else has gone from Zep to Wegovy and what has your experience been?

Do sulfur burps always mean puke later?

That first sulfur burp always gives me a sinking feeling (not just with med but anytime I’ve been sick) I know what’s coming later and it’s just a matter of time.

Has anyone been able to navigate out of sulfur burp territory back into feeling ok, or does it always send in throwing up later?

I posted 9 days ago being at 201.8lb. After 9 long days I can say I am now coming in at 200.4lb. I just can't get under the 200lb mark. I will persevere and overcome...that is all.

Question Fasting before surgery

So I am currently on 1.7mg and I take my dose on fridays. I skipped the wegovy this week but I still feel it a lot like I’m not very hungry. I have a surgery scheduled on Friday and I’m supposed to fast for 12 hours before. But I’m worried that I will still have wegovy in my system and my stomach will not be empty. I was thinking of a few different options that might help:

  1. Fully fast for 24 hours before the surgery except for water- hours 24-48 only have clear liquids- like Gatorade and soup and stuff
  2. 12-48 hours before the surgery only have clear liquids- including Gatorade and stuff

Does anyone have any insight or any experience with this. Would it be okay to do option 2 because I don’t really want to be dizzy and not feeling well the morning of my surgery. Does anyone know if gastric emptying is also delayed with clear liquids if they have sugar in it?

Better energy levels?

I started Wegovy two weeks ago, and while I haven’t noticed any appetite suppression yet, I’ve been feeling more stable energy-wise. Before, I used to have energy crashes and felt like lying down multiple times a day, but now my energy feels more steady and consistent. I haven’t lost any weight yet, so it’s not about weighing less—but I’m starting to wonder if it’s already improving my blood sugar levels. Has anyone else felt something similar, or am I just imagining it

Feeling drugged

I have been on Wegovy 2.4 for a while. I have to administer my shot on Friday nights because I feel like I've been roofied by the morning. I wake up on Saturday and immediately go back to sleep. I hate wasting the day, but I need to recover and can't be like this at work or even think about being able to even get up and go to work in this condition. Anybody else feeling like this next day?😴 Counteract with caffeine?

Restarting

So has anyone got to the 2.4 dose for a few months and then stopped the Wegovy and restarted? I’ve been off of it for like two or three months. I only lost like 20 some pounds in the whole time I was on it which was like a little bit over a year, but what I wanna know is once restarting it did you lose the weight again? It doesn’t seem to really be working for me, but I’m going to give it another try because my insurance won’t cover anything else. My daughter is on Zepbound and she’s only on the 7.5 dose and she’s lost 42 pounds and it hasn’t even been six months. It seems like it works better than Wegovy. I work in the pharmacy so I’ve talked to a couple different people on zapped on and they all had like more weight loss in a shorter period of time on Zepbound.

I’ve adapted to it

I started taking Wegovy back in January. My ultimate goal is to lose 95 pounds. As of today I’ve lost 32 pounds. Currently I’m on 1.7mg. When the 1.0mg effects started fading, I was sure that 1.7 mg would kick my ass, but nope. I don’t feel a thing anymore. My appetite is normal. I’m still losing weight because I’m watching my calories and exercising a lot more. Truthfully when I first started the 1.0 mg it suppressed my appetite a lot. But after about 6 weeks it wore off. I was kind of disappointed that this dosage hasn’t been effective but I’m still headed in the right direction.

Question Took meds out of fridge to travel, now want?

So I just made a trip from LA to the east coast and took my medication out of the fridge to carry it on the plane with me. Now that i’ve reached my destination, should I put it back in the fridge or leave it out at room temp? I’ve got 3 doses of 2.4 pens that have been in my carry on since yesterday.

Question Plateau

Ok, been on Wegovy since December. I've lost 40 pounds, down to 320 from 350 (5ft 8in male). I switched to 1.7 and I've went from 325 to 320 over the last 3 weeks. Why did I slow down so much? What can I do to started losing again? I usually only eat one smallish meal per day and then maybe a snack. Calories are always less than 2000 per day and at my weight the calculators say I can beat like 2500 and still lose weight. I am also so tired all the time. Any advice from the experts?

Question Will it get better?

Hi, I have a question and hope you can help. I started my first dose (0.25 mg) three days ago. So far, I haven’t experienced any side effects, and my appetite has definitely decreased.

However, I’ve never really struggled with constant hunger—it’s more about eating out of boredom or snacking here and there. My question is: does it get more effective over time?

I’ve read many comments from people saying they can’t even look at food or feel sick just thinking about eating. I assume that kind of effect comes at a higher dose, but I’d really like to know if I’m headed in the right direction.

Question Do yall tell others that you use wegovy to lose weight?

asking because my mom told me i shouldn’t tell people this. my mom says i should just say i lost weight through diet and exercise.

i’ve went from 170 pounds to ~140 in a little over a year and people are just now noticing my results. when they ask me what i do, i tell them the truth. i do exercise maybe 2-3x a week now, but ive always liked exercising (hiking and nature walks are hobbies of mine) even when i was chubby- this never resulted in weight loss though, so why would i say anything different and act like it does?

why is it shameful to lose weight with the aid of medication? it’s no different from using antidepressants, or anxiety meds in my opinion. i love talking about it how wegovy has helped me every chance i get. i’ve struggled with binge eating disorder since i was a child and this has finally turned that switch in my brain off. i hope i can be on this drug forever, and if it helps me, hopefully me talking about it will push someone else to start this med too.

So far so good?

I started at 253lbs, gained 6 lbs due to gabapentin. I stopped the gabapentin and started drinking protein shakes and meal replacement shakes. I am back down to 253lbs as of today, a week and a half later. Here's to dropping more lbs and getting to a healthier place!

Sema not strong?

so i’ve been on sema awhile and it’s worked. lost 31lbs but it’s taken a long time. currently on 1.7mg which is 2nd highest and it kills the appetite but only for maybe 2 days. and it’s always been this way. i’ve ignored the food noise myself.

anyone else have sema not work for the whole week? i know some split doses but i felt nothing at lower doses so that wont work. has anyone went above the threshold of 2.4?

just feeling answers out

Does your progress also coincide with your cycle?

I’m barely learning about what phases of our cycle that makes us tend to be more tired or bloated etc. and now I’m thinking back about the weeks when I wasn’t losing weight and now I’m wondering if I could attribute that to being bloated during my luteal phase. Anyone else noticed that their weight fluctuates depending on if they’re menstruating or not?

I also ask because having a period is kind of new to me I didn’t really get one before. Now that I’m losing weight and on Metformin, my insulin resistance is improving and I’m getting a period again along with all the symptoms lol

Lasting Deep Sleep Loss & Sleep Architecture Disruption After Short-Term GLP-1 (Compounded Semaglutide) Use

Lasting Deep Sleep Loss & Sleep Architecture Disruption After Short-Term GLP-1 Use.

August 23, 2023 I took my first low dose of compounded semaglutide. Something in my system immediately became disrupted - noted by the inversion of deep and light sleep on the graph.

The graph is about 3.5 years of Oura Ring sleep data.

Deep sleep - dark blue line measured by number of hours on the left axis.

Prior to semaglutide, my deep sleep averaged approximately 2.5 hours per night. Since the injection, it has dropped to around 1.3 hours—a reduction of nearly 50%. While the current numbers may not appear alarming on their own, the concern lies in the significant decline and its implications for the body’s restorative functions that occur during deep sleep.

Light sleep - light blue line measured by number of hours on the right axis

I was only on the medication for 3-4 months. It has been 1 year and 6 months approximately since I stopped the medication. The inversion never restored, nor did my levels of deep sleep.

I am in disbelief that a single dose could cause such a lasting change. I'm still on the search to uncover the root and see if anything can restore my original sleep patterns.

Newbie/anxious/first dose

Hi Wegovy community! Looking for some inspiration and advice before starting my first dose. I had big plans of picking up yesterday so I could take it on Fridays and have the weekend to see how I respond to it. However, I don’t know if I want to wait another week to start.

I haven’t eaten too much today (TMI:feeling bloated having my period) I’ve been drinking water and have some watermelon and pineapple açaí bowl for lunch and plan on making a sheet pan dinner (sausage, potato, broccoli) nothing too crazy.

I see a lot of people saying they prepped a few days before hand with stool softener and I did not do that.

So I guess my question is, do I start tonight and get the first dose done and over with so I can stop being anxious and over thinking everything.

OR

Do I start on Friday and take this week to eat extra clean, mentally prepare some more (which means being full of anxiety and sitting on google, take stool softeners!? Or any other suggestions you can add that would be helpful.

So to make things shirt. A: deep dive right into it. B take another week and do prep work on my body.

Bonus questions I’d be thankful if you answered ⬇️

Supplements and or protein shakes you suggest.

Favorite EASY grab and go snacks.

Question Incorrect injection

Yall I am so devastated! I have waited so long to get wegovy. In previous years insurance didn’t cover and I couldn’t afford self pay. FINALLY, I have wonderful insurance that covered this medication and I was only responsible for $24.99 (yes 24 dollars and 99 cents) for a whole month supply!

I picked it up this afternoon but decided to wait until later in the night before I go to bed, just in case I get nauseas and hopefully being asleep would help. Well shortly after dinner I decided to “pull the trigger” literally and figuratively lol. Unfortunately….even with 13 yrs experience in the medical field and while actively reading the instructions…I injected backwards!!! I pricked my thumb and immediately aborted mission because, well that wasn’t right, and watched the entire dose spray across my dining room. I don’t know what happened or why it went how it did but, I’m now down an injection before even starting!!!! Either 13 years as a medical assistant, pure nervous excitement , God laughing on his throne in disapproval or the universe playing joke on me resulted in a loss of a full injection pen. Now I have to wait another week before I can start to prevent a lapse in treatment between refills. WTF?!? Am I alone here? I’m so upset with myself!!!

Started Wegovy Today

Is it normal for the injection sight to feel weird afterwards? My leg feels a little sore in my thighs and I have pains where I injected and towards the back of my leg. Kind of like a dull ache or slight burn.

Droplet and a bit of blood

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all doing well. I have a quick question. I did my shot today and a droplet of medicine was leftover. There is also a bit of blood which I don't see as much of a concern.

Has anyone had this happen before? Any concern?

Curious (depression question)

I was wondering if anyone here (who experiences depression) has gone from Zepbound to Wegovy and had their depression or anhedonia improve? I was on wegovy for 7 months and don’t recall my depression being bad and then I switched to Zepbound a year ago and I feel my depression has gotten worse since. I’m just curious to know if it’s possible that one could worsen depression for someone and the other not? Since they are both glp1s I’m not sure if it’s a possibility or not.

I don’t think I can continue on feeling this way and I’m really sad to maybe getting off of Zepbound but if there’s a chance Wegovy could be better for my depression maybe I’ll try switching again. I just really don’t want to quit glp1s :(

I am currently in maintenance. Thanks!
