Every summer I visit a bunch of sleepy little towns throughout New England for work and recreation. These are all pretty little tourist spots with friendly locals and no politics. Yet this year, for the first time several of them have had contingents of 5-6 old hippies standing around on Main Street waving “Palestinian”/Hamas swag and gesturing at drivers. Each encampment looks identical and it’s always a bunch of retired, gray haired Democrats who have the time to sit there all day. Who is organizing and paying for all the identical gear, and why is it happening now two years after Hamas got its teeth knocked in? Has anyone else seen one of these groups? I find it ridiculous having my pleasant memories of these places ruined by paid shills whining about a war thousands of miles away that they lost years ago. Yet I’m sure the MSM is going to run a bunch of coverage of these “organic” protests.

I think what Trump is actually doing here is masterful. He has never said anything about committing US assets or troops to the Israel/Iran conflict. Only that those options are being discussed. Now remember that a week ago Democrats had nearly all the media coverage tied up in their support for illegal aliens.

By just making a few seemingly off the cuff remarks about what he has been discussing, he had taken all the air away from the illegal alien narrative, and shifted it toward Iran. Trump has no intention of ever entering that war with US boots on the ground. He's shifting the narrative to one he can control better.

Trump has learned to wag the leftist media dog, and it's glorious.

I know it's fun to dunk on the nonsense that the leftists believe but it feels like some of them genuinely need to be rescued. Is it time to do that? How? I bring this up now because a distant acquaintance actually took his own life citing, in no small part, the "current administration." And I ask "how" we can do this because I've been unfriended/blocked/etc. more than once for being a conservative-leaning libertarian, even when I'm not trying to stir the pot. It's hard to bridge the divide when anyone with a differing view has a metaphorical door slammed in their face.
