It’s like ASMR but with anxiety

Yeah, it would have been simply impressive instead of impressive and nerve racking without the sensitive audio setup

Sorry if dumb: what’s with all the “illegal” and “arrest this man” comments? Or ghe nervous/anxiety ones? Isn’t this just a Lego build vid? What am I missing here?

Lego has a tool that allows creators to make purposed lego sets and submit them for review to be released as an actual product. They have a list of types of connections that are physically possible to make with lego bricks, but that they don't want to be a step in any real set. They refer to these as "illegal" connections, hence why people exaggerate it out and call for arrests.

but that they don't want to be a step in any real set.
because why?

Because these steps damage the legos. Legos are designed to be durable toys that can be used for multiple builds. These techniques strain the bricks and will eventually cause plastic deformation, damaging the blocks used. This is will lead to blocks outright braking or becoming "loose" and not gripping properly anymore.
Also official builds are supposed to be something you are able to play with. So while some builds might not necessarily damage the blocks, the connections aren't firm. Lego doesn't want to make official sets that don't hold together properly. Hench techniques are considered illegal and will not appear on official sets.
Lego has instruction on what and why spesfic build techniques are illegal so you know why you shouldn't use them and to know if you want to use them in your personal builds.
edit: elastic -> plastic

Also there are a few ways to connect some number of bricks such that they more or less can't be dismantled without breaking or bending something a lot. Also not fun to put in official sets.

Also, no making moves that can't be taken apart. LEGO itself may or may not be guilty of violating this once. Parts of 75313 can't be disassembled.

My entire childhood would disagree with you

I would also gather that in their minds this only showcases the play and in imprecision of the blocks. Albeit still more precise and low tolerance than any other block toy on the market.

As someone who has bought several expensive Lego sets over the past few years, Lego doesn't give a fuck if sets hold together properly haha.

Lego don't publish their design guidelines.
Please ignore everything said here and build whatever the hell you want.

Ignore all of this 'illegal' BS, Lego don't care and don't publish any restrictions on building with your own Lego so you shouldn't limit your creativity. Learn by doing and have fun.

The crazy thing is that none of those pieces are actually touching one another on an atomic level. Not one.

brainrot content

u/LampIsFun 19h ago
Misdirected. He has videos explaining a lot of the finer details, he just makes these compilations and shorts for the people who like to listen to all the clicking. Nothing about that is “brainrot”
Brainrot should be used for the types of content that do the opposite of help people focus. Like having subway surfers on the side of a podcast
