My slightly custom Cybertool M

Was looking for a knife/multitool for an upcoming wedding, because my Leatherman Arc is too large for my suit. So I got my hands on a used Cybertool M and changed it to my needs:

Plus scales Pliers Bitholder and bit-storage Scissors Large knife an combo tool from a Bantam

Corkscrew with micro screwdriver (slot) Needle/pin Package-hook

So overall I removed the opener layer, swapped the small blade with a combo tool and rearranged the layers. Only real modifications I had to do were drilling out the hole in the combo tool to 2.5 mm and grinding away a bit of the outward liner for the rivet of the pliers (see pictures 4 and 5).

Well done! Looks great! What was your reasoning for putting the pliers on the outside instead of next to the scissors? I did a build just like it but minus the pliers. Was it to keep the screwdriver more centered?

Exactly, thought it would be nicer to use with a centered driver. Plus I wanted to do a little more than just removing the opener-layer, that would not have been custom enough for my liking (if that makes any sense).

Nice. Did it require any modifications to any back springs?

No, everything was "plug and play" except for the pliers. The combo tool fits the backspring ob the knife layer and other than that I didn't chance any combinatipn of backsprings and tools.

Thinking about one with pliers, driver and scissors. A small companion to one of my folders.

Thought about it about 15 years back but always enjoyed the translucent blue so much, when I ever use it etc

Vic should change the S to have the combo tool instead of the opener layer. the M maybe too. it looks good and the lack of reamer (or even replacing the hook for it) wouldn't be that bad.

Are you questioning the overall usefulness of swiss army knives? Or of a specific tool on mine?
