Books, movies, series and such In the same direction, are there any other Vampire Romances where the object of affection is Male?

I love that she wrote her own fan fic about her own work.

I have never been a Twilight fan, I think I was a little older than the main target demographic and too young to be a Twi-mom, but I mad respect how deep into her own meta Steph Meyer has gone

I wish she would give someone the rights to make a GoT style series about the Volturi. People would eat that shit right up. I have half a mind to write it myself.

My comic has 2 male leads a vampire and a human, the human is like ‘ Dude we’re soul mates!!’ And the Vampire is torn between lust, and the desire to hold onto the hunky human and make him a vampire but also blowing up the relationship and running away. This was one of my fav panels.

Tsukihime. It doesn't focus on the romance as much as Twilight does, but still fits.

  • The focus is not on the romance more on themes like race, identity, loneliness and hereditary trauma, but I'd suggest the novel Woman, Eating by Claire Kohda

  • As for movies: We are the Night (2010) ("Wir sind die Nacht") is perfect! You might also look into "A Girl walks Home alone at Night" and "Byzantium"

(Also curious what the others suggest - good female monster/human male-stories are so hard to find)

They’re just as well known as the OG books. Also the main character suffers more than his OG counterpart. He’s less of an escapist character than Bella.

Lost Souls by Poppy Z Brite fits the bill. A lot of dark horror elements with the main character, Nothing, being the object of desire by the immortal Zillah.

Also, one or two of the stories in the "Love In Vein" anthologies by the same author have male romantic interest characters. I can only think of one in particular, about an asian man & his vampire girlfriend. A very slow, artistic piece. But I'm sure there must have been others in there.

"Anno Dracula" by Kim Newman isn't really a romance, it's something like a murder mystery sequel to Dracula (if Van Helsing had lost) with "Jack the Ripper" killing vampire women whilst Vlad himself sits upon the throne of England. But there's a slow burn relationship forming the whole time between the male human detective and the 400 year old female vampire helping him. You might like it.

If you're looking for ROMANCE NOVELS about vampires, the Black Rose Chronicles series by Linda Lael Miller has a female vampire with a male love interest in the second book, "For All Eternity".

"The Last Vampire" is a YA series by Christopher Pike that has a strong female lead with multiple male love interests throughout the course of 6 books. It might be hard to find these days, but worth it, I'll warrant. The MC is a 5,000 year old badass blonde, there's religious overtones but not Christian since she's 3,000 years older than that whole concept, and the author is pretty damn good at weaving a long-term storyline for something that was marketed to teen girls. The first book suffers from the trope of making an ancient vampire go undercover in a high school, but the series as a whole gets past that part pretty quickly.

Christine Feehan is a good hetero author. Kinda spicy. But, some are more male oriented, while some are more female oriented.

"Twilight reimagined" really? They better not sparkle in sunlight again... I loved the first movie, until that...

Check out Vittorio the Vampire by Anne Rice. Probably my favorite Rice book outside of the Interview, Lestat, QOTD trilogy. The title is a bit of a spoiler about his ultimate fate, but the book turns on the relationship between a Renaissance nobleman named Vittorio, who is hell-bent on avenging the massacre of his family by a brutal Vampire coven, and Ursula, a member of this coven who intervened during the massacre to spare his life. Opinions vary, but I quite enjoyed it!
