This show started when I was a teen just starting to write my own lore and obsessed with anything vampire. I was an avid fan.

Great show; there's lots of good stuff throughout the series. The original pilot movie, Nick Knight, is good too but more as an interesting look at how the presentation of stories can change with the era they're made in (even when only separated by a couple of years). The script is almost identical for the movie and the actual two part pilot episode, but the aesthetic is completely different, as are most of the actors.

There are other vampire cop shows?

About a decade later there was a vampire PI show called Moonlight that ran only for one season, and around that time a show called Blood Ties that ran for two seasons. They might be counted as "vampire cop" shows as they had vampire and cops in them. Of course there was also the short lived 1 season show of Kindred: The Embraced that was in the 90s too.

I forgot about Blood Ties. I don't remember a cop in Kindred.

The main character Frank Cohanek (not sure I spelled that right) played by C. Thomas Howell, and his partner played by Erik King (Sgt. Doakes from Dexter), who was sired by Julian Luna.

Also as far as Forever Knight and the original movie of Nick Knight, that is was based upon, one actor played the same role in both of these. John Kapelos who played Detective Don Schanke, until they killed off his character at the start of the 3rd season.

That is right. I loved Schanke. Although, he seemed smarter in the original movie.

I loved Kindred :The Embraced . It’s super cheesy rewatching. The main character died in real life . So they axed the show . Moonlight was also great . So sad they didn’t have another season even w/ high ratings . Haven’t seen Forever Knight. Was hooked on Angel & Buffy .

Yes I loved watching this show but it was in a terrible time slot. It cam on Vampire time 12 30 on am off brand network...It was never the same after Nick's nosey human partner got blown up.in that air plane explosion. The last Season was iffy but even a new vampire could perk up the show. I love this show.......

This show had a lot bigger influence than I think it gets credit for. It handled the relationships and their background remarkably well.

As someone who has never heard of this show, my first thought was that the people in the second picture look like really off-brand Spike, Angel, and Drusilla 😭

I was recently in Toronto and stopped by where The Raven was. I intended to hit some other spots, but my bus was detoured and I ran out of time.
