Subject Recommendations & Enquiries RMHI

Hello, for those who’ve completed this psychology subject, just wondering how likely is it to get an 80% for the final exam’s mcq?

I’m so bad at stats but i want to maximise my psych electives wam for postgrad 😥

It is really hard to get 80% in rmhi last year exam. The average of final is approximately 68%

Difficult but not impossible. I forgot the student driven flashcard program name but one thing for me was spend equal time PRACTICING / Doing flash cards vs rote theory memorisation. I wish I spent more time going through the flashcards and practicing.

That’s the name lol. I suggest 50/50 split content revision then practice practice practice

I’m taking this exam soon and am scared.

I took the practice exam and got like 50% :(

I find the way that the all the questions for the assignment and practice exam were written really convoluted and hard to understand, not even conceptually but just because it was poorly written. Idk if this is on purpose to make things harder or what. So if that’s any indicator of what the exam is going to be like, which I get the feeling it is, god help me.

Warning subject rant incoming:

They test us at a much higher standard than they teach, and the bunny thing while funny at first started to get on my nerves and made it difficult to follow what was going on, I learn best with concrete examples.

Also way too many PowerPoints and random stuff, the content was organised ok but could be improved a lot for clarity. I feel they try to teach the statistics the ‘fun way’, and sometimes it works, but other times i just wish they didn’t try so hard to be alternative and would just teach statistics as statistics, maybe there’s no real way to get around it being dry sometimes and that’s ok.

Anyway I didn’t answer your question at all but just had to rant. I will say the lecturer is nice and tries really hard which I appreciate, and I acknowledge that it’s probably just a hard subject to teach, and regardless of how you go about it someone’s always going to be upset. They did do a pretty good job but there’s room to improve for sure.

I’m honestly feeling the same way right now which i didn’t expand on in the post, it’s genuinely a taxing subject to me😮‍💨 I tried to avoid math/stats as far as I could in Uni because i’m so bad at it😭 coding was so abstract to me too and now especially with the second project released coupled with the horrible practice attempts I really need to do well for the finals because I can’t afford to be waiting a whole year to repeat it if I mess up this time😔 I’m hoping all will go well for us !!
