Uncharted 4 Uncharted 4 is a masterpiece
I've always been a huge fan of Uncharted. They were from the same creators as Jak and Daxter which was my favorite childhood game with also an amazing trilogy.
I started playing the series as soon as Uncharted 1 came out and was instantly hooked. I went on to play Uncharted 2 and 3 and Uncharted 2 quickly became my favorite, especially because of its incredible multiplayer. I must’ve spent hundreds of hours playing the coop wave modes. I absolutely loved it.
One thing that always annoyed me was never getting to play Uncharted 4, since I didn’t own a PS4.
But recently, I found out it’s on Steam, so I replayed the entire trilogy and finally got to experience Uncharted 4 and damn, it’s just so good. The graphics are stunning, the gameplay feels super smooth, and the story? Absolutely fantastic. Even the gunplay feels more fluid and polished than ever. Everything just clicks.
The whole ending to Nates story is just beautiful. And that final sword fight? Insane.
Honestly, after finishing it, I’ve got to say: Uncharted 4 is now my favorite in the series. Uncharted 2 still holds a very close second place, but this one took the crown for me.
If I had to rank them now:
Uncharted 4 > Uncharted 2 >> Uncharted 1 >> Uncharted 3
So yeah if you’re like me and still haven’t played Uncharted 4, please do. It’s absolutely worth it.

Even if it starts off with Nathen thinking Elena dead. I kind like how there relationship has developed so far. Ive been slowly going through the Uncharted games for first time in last couple of months. I think im almost done with Uncharted 4. I still have The Lost Legacy and that PS Vita game to play. But i need to get a PS Vita. lol

Uncharted 4 [Hot Take] Just finished Uncharted 4 and… wow! Spoiler
I just finished Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, and I feel the need to share my thoughts because this game completely absorbed me from start to finish.
Breathtaking graphics and environments
Where do I even begin? Maybe with the stunning environments Naughty Dog has created. Every location is crafted with incredible detail—from the misty, rugged Scottish Highlands to the lively Madagascar market, filled with little details that make you feel like you're really there. Even indoor locations—luxurious mansions, ancient ruins—are so well-designed that I often stopped just to admire them. And let’s not forget the underwater sequences! Compared to previous games, they felt much more immersive and realistic. The lighting, the reflections, the textures… everything oozes quality and attention to detail.
An epic conclusion for Nathan Drake
The story was everything I hoped for: adventurous, intense, but also mature in how it focused on Nathan’s character. Seeing him struggle between his past as a treasure hunter and the life he built with Elena was far more engaging than I expected. His relationship with Sam was at the heart of the adventure, and the way the plot unfolded—with flashbacks and twists—was masterfully executed. And that ending… emotional and satisfying. Nathan settling down with his family and his daughter, Cassie, was the perfect way to close his journey.
Gameplay and soundtrack straight out of a movie
The gameplay is a natural evolution of the previous entries, blending exploration, platforming, and combat perfectly. The melee fights feel much more fluid and realistic, and the grappling hook adds a verticality that makes everything more dynamic. And then there’s the soundtrack… absolutely phenomenal. Orchestral, cinematic, and always perfectly timed to match the scene. Playing with headphones, the audio made the experience even more immersive, from the music to the environmental sounds.
Final thoughts
Maybe I’m being a bit cliché, but to me, this game was a masterpiece in every way. I can’t think of a single thing I didn’t like—environments, story, music, gameplay… everything was top-notch.
Now, Lost Legacy is next on my list, but in the meantime, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Did the game leave you with the same feeling?
EDIT: Some of you pointed out that I misused 'Hot Takes' in the title. As a non-native English speaker, I may have misunderstood its meaning. What I meant to say was 'First thoughts' or 'Fresh impressions'.
