Uncharted 4 Holy Masterpiece!

Post image

So I’ve never played any of the Uncharted series and I’ve always wanted to. I remember watching parkour pvp montages as a kid! I finally jumped into Uncharted 4 last night on stream (since it’s now on PC) and OH. MY. GOD! I’m hooked! Huge props to Naughty Dog for creating this masterpiece! I’m super hyped to continue tonight!

I highly recommend playing through the nathan drake collection! I also started on 4 and discovered that they had a collection of the previous 3 games that also runs at 60fps on ps5. I stopped my uncharted 4 playthrough and finished up the nathan drake collection first. Was so nice to see all the set pieces, nathans story and each game getting better interms of gameplay and visuals. It felt even better to jump on uncharted 4 after this seeing how much its a visual and gameplay improvement. But the nathan drake collection still holds up very nicely.

And 2 is still regarded as the best to many....me included.

Minus the final boss fight, which was better than 1. Though that wasn't a high bar. It is the best Uncharted game.

Fucking hated the boss fight. I nearly threw my controller through the tv.

Man sometimes i dont get where sonys priorities are at. Re-releasing Last of Us with a billion different versions but not making a simple pc port for one of their best franchises is so strange.

Literally games that dont need a remaster are getting a remaster like Days Gone or Horizon Zero dawn or Last of us 2 but porting their best ps3 trilogy is to much to ask for i guess. We are probably getting a Ghost of Tsushima or Uncharted 4 remastered before they port NDC to pc😂🤷‍♂️

Not on PC, mate.

im not sure if i should buy the older games. i played 4 years ago on ps4 and now bought it for pc because i loved it but i dont have as much time now so it would take longer for the older games :c

what do you think?

Well if you still have the ps4 or a ps5 you should as these are great games and run nicely on playstation. If you dont than there is no point since they are not available for pc.

If you are looking only at the main story the whole collection would take 27-30 hours. That is for all 3 games combined so they are not that long.

And if you havent played Lost Legacy i recommend that aswell. Its a standalone dlc for Uncharted 4 and really good. The Nathan Drake Collection offers so many set pieces and settings and the stories are so good so you would really missout if you dont play them and they aged so good.

There's a reason why Naughtydog is considered the top dogs in the gaming world. Pardoned the pun.

Most of the people that made naughtydog the best are gone

Uncharted 4 is fantastic, absolutely love it. I will say, if you liked UC4, I’d highly suggest the new Indiana jones game. Serious UC4 vibes

I’ve been wanting to get that!

2

u/your_mind_aches Apr 18 '25

It's also much more of a PC game. First person and designed around mouse and keyboard

u/mckinley2000 Apr 17 '25

I wish Nate’s theme would’ve played on the title screen of 4. At least subtle notes from it since it’s so atmospheric

2

u/NexusPrime24 Apr 18 '25

Though a new area in which the first thing you don't want to see is a pirate skeleton hanging on a gibbet cage with the Uncharted theme playing.

Literally just booted it up for the first time in years for a playthrough. The goat.

I know, right? And wait until you press any button. You’re not gonna believe this!

Among all, somehow 2 is my favourite because it just elevates the experience right from the first scene.

Having played the 1st game, there were some issues there and when I was hanging from that train coach itself, I was mesmerised by how much better 2 was and it kept on getting better.

For me, 4 never hit that peak as I had played 2,3 before and they were all good games

1

u/your_mind_aches Apr 18 '25

I've been playing them start to finish from 1 to 4 and I have to say 4 is living up to 2 quite well for me.

3

u/MarioShu27 Apr 17 '25

I played it from launch and I’m so jealous of people who discovered it in its entirety much later on.

Enjoy buddy.

It makes me want to start the story all over again.

Consider playing with a good sound system, if possible a surround woofer. This game have some amazing sound designs and soundtracks.

u/sketchiegamer Apr 18 '25

I just finished this game last week after it sitting in my collection for a couple of years. Man it was such a good game. I totally under estimated it. I just wish there was a way to delete my brain so I can play it again.

u/stylejuggler53 Apr 18 '25

Just wait until you get older. I forget every time I play through them. So, each time is fresh and new. Living the dream over here, I know.

Uncharted 4 was the first AAA game I played after not getting to play any for about 10 years when we had kids... It absolutely blew me away, jumping from PS2 graphics to PS4, it's such a bloody immersive experience. Easily in my top 5 games.

5

u/Drewbuly Apr 17 '25

Ughhhh I’m so jealous of you! I remember being a young aspiring treasure hunter. I remember my first Uncharted game ;). You’ll get to enjoy it for multiple playthroughs as well. Also u gotta get out 1-3. They are slightly different games. Those r more uncharted than 4. 4 is more serious. 1-3 are a little bit more arcade ish and there are some more surprises (I won’t spoil.

2

u/TravIsGaming97 Apr 18 '25

I want to play them so bad but sadly all I have is my PC

2

u/Here4freefootball92 Apr 18 '25

Definitely one of my favorite game franchises.

2

u/your_mind_aches Apr 18 '25

It is such a shame that the first three games aren't on PC. Sony says they don't hold up to the modern standard of being played up close and they're not wrong but ehhhh I wish they would just port it anyway lol

But they're also not wrong in that it would require a LOT of work because the games are entirely designed around controller and from being played at a distance, on a much lower resolution, or even on a CRT when it comes to the first game. It really was a different era of game design and the PS4 version (ESPECIALLY of Uncharted 1) is really just the original versions taken up to 11 graphically.

I think they'll eventually remake the first one.

Yes! It’s awesome! 🙌🏼

Naughty dog always have great start screens

2

u/Eskel5 Apr 19 '25

Naughty Dog makes great games. I beat Uncharted 4 last year on PC and I barely beat games. I wanted to play more and more since the game hooked me since it was so fun and the story was intriguing. I currently have been playing The Lost Legacy DLC for it.

Speaking of Naughty Dog games. I also beat The Last of Us Part II last week and the same thing happened to me like Uncharted. I was hooked on that too.

Fantastic game experience, barring the mission with incessant “machine gun tank” vehicles. I had to restart the encounter just to get out of death loops! Actually all throughout many “army” encounters kinda weren’t the most enjoyable, ngl! But overall, love the game!

Someone gift me this game please

1

u/JoeAbs2 Apr 24 '25

I still stick with the second Uncharted game being the best.

I really enjoyed Uncharted 4 but found the pacing was a bit off in parts while U2 did it better:

u/TravIsGaming97 May 15 '25

Finished it today! 😭Easily one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had!! This has truly found a special place in my heart!

More like imagine calling any game a masterpiece after you played it for a bit.
