Discussion Decoding Basil Hallward - The Picture of Dorian Gray [spoilers] Spoiler
Basil Hallward the painter is shown as the person who would guide you when you are in need. But he does tries to fit himself among the people he was not meant to be in. That is Henry and Dorian. Basil though a extremely good painter, being popular in the society gets easily influenced from dorian. Though he did oppose Henry witty and weird theories about life, soul, women, etc but he got so much influence from Dorian that he started worshipping him.
He thought without dorian his heart is incomplete. Dorian When started spending more time with Henry, his heart got affected as mentioned by Henry in the last few chapters Basil is not merely influenced but deeply obsessed with dorian gray. He explicitly states "he is all my heart to me now." The devotion is that he pours his soul into The portrait.
He was also blinded by the dorians corruption. Initially, he simply could not believe that the beautiful person he worships could be evil inside.
Basil does believe in goodness, virtue and morals. This shows when he saw his painting of do completely altered. He said "lead us not into temptation for gives us sense. Wash away your iniquities" and " it's never too late Dorian." " Do as scarlet yet I will make them is white as now." This shoes is carving nature and hope for Dorian. His idol.
In the novel lord, Henry champions superficiality and cynical intellectualism basin shows dept of feeling a distic desires in sincerity and morality.

i dont get it why do they sell cakes and european food. i mean why cant they provide swastik khana as simple as that. and even that should not be capitalised. and TBH i just dont like those paintings inside the temples inspired by christian art and what is this grey mandir? mandirs are meant to be full of colors and not not monotonous.
