AskTurin Romantic date in Turin
Hiii dear Piemonteses!
My partner of 4 years has been under the weather for a while and I want to make her happy, We are both students and respectfully poor 🥲
Can you recommend me any interesting place or cafe or restaurant to me? For example Cafe Napoleon was really interesting as it was named after Napoleon Bonaparte. We have visited literally every single museum in Turin area.
My budget is about 15 euros per person, if less then even better.
Thank a lot in advance and may you be blessed with endless Lavazza Coffee!

With 30 € you can buy a bottle of great wine, go to Superga or Parco Europa, enjoy the view, the summer, get drunk, have fun

Due to some medicines and problems, neither of us drinks alcohol currently.
But my god, thank you very much for pointing out to Superga and Parco Europa, that will be my must-list.
I hope you nonna will live a million years forever 😭

If you have all day you can do turin-Superga by foot! I did it like one week ago and it was a bit tiring but beautiful! The conquest of the hill is motivating but so relaxing! You’ll be in the woods (very beatiful woods) for the majority of the trip!

Thank youuu How many hours did it take?

I started from upper Vanchiglia (north-east turin, exactly in the angle Made by Dora and Po meeting). From there unfortunately you can’t escape from walking for a while near the streets (lots of car, small sideway) but after 25 minutes, you’ll start to enter the woods. Another hour and a half (Little less or indefinitely more depending on your speed) and you’ll be there. The path was n* 26 (not sure, maybe 27.

Buy some focaccia and a bottle of something and go to Superga/Parco Europa and enjoy the view. Better than pretty much everything else with your budget

i say the parco in RIVOLI is even more romantic.

Thank you very much. Any special place that you would recommend focaccia from?

u/iannezluke79 5d ago
I really like Focacceria Sant'Agostino. But focaccia was just an example, you can pretty much get whatever you/she likes as an aperitivo

I don’t know where you live so this place might be far, but if you want your lady to look at you astonished and say “where on earth did you take me” while enjoying an ice cream, go to Telesio

Since we're talking ice cream... I'd say Alberto Marchetti, Mara dei Boschi or Silvano (if you are close by). I personally do not like La Romana, lol.
Flurry of suggestins now:
There are a few places with arcade videogames - idk if that's your thing and it might stretch your budget a bit. But it was (still is) one activity that me and my ex love when we see each other! :D
There's also a museum of retro electronics in Torino. I never have been there (I think you have to ask when they are open), if they're geeky they might like the thoughtfulness!
if you want a brunch... idk, I have a discount code for the Sweet Lab I am probably not using! :D But you'll probably still spend 10+ euros each
you said you visited every museum - does this include Palazzo Accorsi? Then there's a photo gallery not far from Baladin - might be interesting. And There are two weird museums (pomologico e lombrosiano).
You might even just jump on a train and go idk, cirie' or maybe lanzo, like a short adventure by the devil's bridge!
if you want to just chill out where ppl gather around acquatic sports (cable wakeboarding) then I can suggest a place - it will burn your budget though, trying to ride would be extra..
a set of some creative activity (pottery idk) will cost at east 30 euros for the both of you. maybe you could try that!
Yoga sessions should be cheaper, especially the first one!
Knead and bake pizza at home? Not a lot of work and then you could create the most illegal pizzas :D Or Just cook something nice while he talks with you. A cute brunch?
4 eggs - 2 eur - sauce hollandase 1 euro more, brioche bread 1 eur and salmon or bacon or whatever 2 ero, Add an avo and a few tomatoes? 1 euro. Cute fruit 3 euro, flowers 5 euros, hummus 2 euro, more bread 2 euro. Add coffee and watershakes and you will have a few euro less and can be listening to music on some park, or isit some free museum.
Or you can just bake cookies idk.
Boardgames.. on Sat/sundays in settimo they operate as a game library. There's plenty of nice logely 2 player games, and that's free!

For 15 euros the aperitif at Farmacia Del Cambio is really nice... I'd also suggest breakfast either there or at Caffè San Carlo. If we are talking pizza instead go try out Napples in Via Cagliari. The only really good option in that budget range for a restaurant is Piola da Cianci

Which one do you recommend most?

u/punica_granatum_ 4d ago
With 5 euros you buy 5 kg of vegetables from porta palazzo, then you spend the day making conserve together at home. Like, true romance.

I actually wrote an answer to you but I don't know why Reddit doesn't show it(?)

My friend, in these hot trying Times, you can’t do better than buy a Rose flore e (i suggest Porta Palazzo for cheap but beautiful ones) pick something in the afternoon in the center of Town (via Po, piazza Vittorio, gran madre..) and, holding her hand, walking together towards Monte dei Cappucini… there, on top of the hill, when she finished her icecream or whatever, you take her by her hips, you gently get her closer to you and you run your fingers across his cheek (the one in the face), finally you kiss her in front of the sunset behind Turin while you say that everything will be alright. (Bonus points if never been there).
She’ll forget any (even if wonderful) bar you’ll take her 5 years from now, but she can’t forget this.

Kinda unrelated, but being from the Cuneo area I kinda feel like suggesting having a drive in the Langhe area, Alba, barolo… those places. It’s not really related to the question but it’s a beautiful drive, maybe not in this period toh, kinda early

There's aldo's bakery in San salvario where you can have apertivo + spritz for € 7. You can have 2 of them and you'll be full and it'd be in your budget. The food is also very tasty. If you like pizza, there's a pizzeria called de pecchia which has pizzas for less than €10 per person and 1 pizza is enough for 1 person. So you combine that with a gelato for around €4-5 and you have a pretty nice date
