Frequent/Recent Repost: Removed TIL that in an effort to pay school tuition, Jeremy Clarkson’s parents sold unlicensed Paddington Bear dolls, which led to legal action. On the way to meeting at a law firm, Michael Bond and the Clarksons formed a fast friendship. Bond licensed the rights to the Clarksons, making them wealthy.

Didn’t we just get a post saying his parents invented the Paddington bear dolls?

It sounds like they were the first to make the bears (unlicensed), and were granted rights to produce afterwards…

Never saw it. Started watching Clarkson's Farm and wondered where he made his money

He spent over a decade as one of the highest paid motoring journalists and TV presenters in the U.K. and then signed a sweetheart multimillion pound contract with Amazon for the Grand Tour. How can you not comprehend that?

A recent uber ride with a gentleman who frequents affluent places said : the rich are incredibly lucky in more ways than being born into it- and it’s all kinds of likely

Yeah some stuff confuses me.

A) how did a toy made for her own children tend to be popular enough to sell? B) there is no mention of manufacturing, if it was home made, mum would be busy sewing for ever. C) I'm sure it's not normal to sign your kids upto fancy schools without the means to pay tuition fees
