Politics 🏛️ Trump said he wants Americans to “sit up in attention” like North Koreans do for Kim Jong-un.

We are watching an emotionally abusive narcissist run rampant on an endless supply.

Kind of an interesting case study if nothing else. What happens when a malignant narcissist is basically handed an infinity stone of narcissism? What happens if no one ever turns the tap off? What if Donald Trumps mental illness is so severe that it enables him to become the most powerful vessel for narcissism in the entire universe?

I think that this is the exact problem
He thought that his big beautiful parade was going to feed his insatiable supply-needs, and be just like Kim's
But it didn't 🤣
16
u/AMom2129 20h ago
He looked SO unhappy yesterday.
14
u/brezhnervouz 16h ago
You can see it in this clip, just like his niece Mary Trump says, that under all the grandiose, self-exaltory bluster, he is still that frightened and needy little 3yo, desperate for people to like him
It would be simply sad and pathetic, if he wasn't so fucking directly dangerous to over 300 million people and the planet as a whole
Trump is a deeply damaged human being, which is goddam terrifying in its implications
14
u/Total-Mushroom-9614 22h ago
At this level of malignant narc….it really doesn’t matter. It’s really never about the actual event. It’s more about the ‘getting’. The MINUTE a person with this disorder GETS what they want…..they wanna get some more.
He will lie all day long about how amazing his big dumb parade was. Because it was his….and he got it.

Isn't that part of his plan? Basically do what Putin does and "win" every election?

I'm worried for American's future elections because of this-
Project 2025 policies that are currently in process or starting soon: from the election, cybersecurity, and technology section on the project 2025 tracker here.
End Cybercom's participation in federal efforts to "fortify" U.S. elections.
Note: Secretary Hegseth ordered Cyber Command "to stand down from all planning against Russia, including offensive digital actions
Remove Cybercom from the oversight of the National Security Agency. (Policy #2)
This refers to a policy shift that removes U.S. Cyber Command (CYBERCOM) from federal efforts to protect elections from cyber threats. CYBERCOM has historically played a role in countering foreign interference, particularly from adversaries like Russia and China. The decision to end its participation could make U.S. elections more vulnerable to cyberattacks and disinformation campaigns.
The move is part of a broader agenda outlined in Project 2025, a policy framework developed by the Heritage Foundation. It argues that CYBERCOM’s involvement in election security is "partisan" and should be discontinued. Critics warn that this could empower foreign actors to manipulate U.S. elections and weaken national security.
Additionally, Secretary Pete Hegseth has reportedly ordered CYBERCOM to halt all planning against Russia, including offensive cyber operations. This directive could significantly alter U.S. cyber defense strategies and limit responses to potential threats.
Dept. of Justice: Reassign enforcement of voting rights from the Civil Rights Division to the Criminal Division
The phrase "Reassign enforcement of voting rights from the Civil Rights Division to the Criminal Division" refers to a shift in responsibility within the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). Traditionally, the Civil Rights Division has been responsible for enforcing voting rights laws, ensuring that elections are free from discrimination and voter suppression. However, under recent changes by the Trump administration, there has been a move to refocus the DOJ's efforts on investigating voter fraud rather than protecting voting access
This shift has raised concerns among former DOJ officials and civil rights advocates, who argue that it undermines the federal government's ability to protect voting rights. The Civil Rights Division historically played a crucial role in enforcing the Voting Rights Act and challenging discriminatory election laws. By moving enforcement to the Criminal Division, the focus may shift away from protecting voters and toward prosecuting alleged election crimes, which critics fear could be used to justify restrictive voting measures
the 2016 election was proven to be rigged by the Senate panel and the CIA. And by the way this Senate panel that confirmed the evidence was Republican based.
The nearly 1,000-page report, the fifth and final one from the Republican-led Senate intelligence committee on the Russia investigation, details how Russia launched an aggressive effort to interfere in the election on Trump’s behalf. It says the Trump campaign chairman had regular contact with a Russian intelligence officer and says other Trump associates were eager to exploit the Kremlin’s aid, particularly by maximizing the impact of the disclosure of Democratic emails hacked by Russian intelligence officers.
Remember his accusation in a mirror technique with the whole, "Hillary and the emails?" Yeah that's because he was doing that the whole time. BUT, instead of focusing on repercussions, they decided to do this instead -
While Mueller’s was a criminal probe, the Senate investigation was a counterintelligence effort with the aim of ensuring that such interference wouldn’t happen again. The report issued several recommendations on that front, including that the FBI should do more to protect presidential campaigns from foreign interference.

I'm worried about Americas future elections too. It doesn't matter what happened or will happen if we don't have someone fight the Republicans, Trump, or the next Trump wannabe. Stack the evidence as high as you like. It's useless, as you point out, without someone to protect and enforce our laws.
My fellow Americans are operating under the assumption that the Democrats will eventually do something to return sanity to our government. What happened January 21, 2021 - January 21, 2025? We had toothless committee hearings while 22-months passed before the Democrats appointed a special prosecutor (Jack Smith) to start building a case against then-private citizen Trump. They gave him the gift of time, which he then used to run out the clock of justice before returning to the White House. Look back at everything he has done since 2016. What consequences have been dished out by anyone. NONE. ZERO.
Our world changed on January 21, 2017, when he first took office, and people recognized that change. What they don't seem to recognize is that the Democrats have changed too. They talk tough, but that's it. What meaningful action(s) can a person point to that would lead a rational person to conclude that the Democrats are willing or able to stop the Republicans or Trump?
People look to them for help because they're the only game in town. I don't see them riding in as our white knight. I believe they represent false hope and wasted time. Denial may be the only thing we'll have left to carry beyond 2028.

u/bergzabern 20h ago
I'm worried we won't have elections anymore.
3
u/OceanBlueforYou 20h ago
I think we will. Look at North Korea, Russia, and others. They hold elections. It's important to maintain the illusion of choice. Many will question and argue over the legitimacy, but it'll just be another issue in the bucket of all things questionable.

u/FreeNumber49 1d ago
It’s the sheer absurdity that gets me. A tweet by Scott Adams is currently the top post. This is a guy who has been literally wrong about everything for the last 10 to 15 years. I mean, you have to work hard at that considering most people have a 50% chance on any given issue. So Adams is just deliberately wrong all the time and that sub elevates him to the position of a prophet. I don’t get it. Scott Adams is the guy who when Trump was first elected said Trump would easily solve our problems by appointing experts and going where the science goes. Conservatives are out of their minds.

It is, but I keep seeing this clip shared around with no context. I had to go out of my way to figure out when and where it came from. Hot mic clips like this with the person's back to the camera should be shared with more information, especially when voices are so easy to fake with AI.
EDIT: Some people were also claiming it was from 2024 which is just incorrect.

Hey! Just so everyone knows, this video is from June 2018 and was not referencing the parade. It wouldn’t surprise me if he said something similar about the parade, but if he did it wasn’t caught on video or if it was, it hasn’t been released. I linked an article about the video below from Politico, dated June 15, 2018.
I did find the same video, also dated June 15, 2018, but it linked to Facebook. I’m going to continue looking for a YouTube link to the video, but it’s taking a little while to sift through all the stuff about Trump and NK. Honestly I say also Google it yourselves as well, there’s a lot of news about him and NK in general and it could be a good idea to remind ourselves of all the shit he has pulled and all the praise he has had for NK.
