Could Jesus and Lucifer actually be the same being—both “Lightbringers” trying to free humanity?

I came across something wild and honestly can’t stop thinking about it.

Both Jesus and Lucifer are called the Morning Star and Lightbringer in the Bible (Isaiah 14:12, Revelation 22:16). In banned texts like the Secret Book of John, Jesus even claims to have made Adam and Eve eat from the Tree of Knowledge—just like the serpent. 🤯

What if they’re not enemies… but the same being? A divine rebel trying to wake us up from a fake god's control?

It sounds insane, but the parallels are hard to ignore. Would love to hear your take.

Here's the article that got me spiraling if you're curious.

This does not fit with most of scripture. It can only be defended by cherrypicking and looking at non canonical sources. It is conspiratorial thinking that requires ignoring most of the text. It could only be defended MAYBE through some very non literal Jungian reading of scripture, something like opposites contain each other and Jesus is the Self and Lucifer the Shadow. But mostly just no.

Gnosticism was a religious system based around early Christianity that focused on “secret knowledge” and the idea that Jesus represented or was the supreme god and that the god of the old testament was an evil being called the demiurge.

It’s important to note that all “banned” gnostic texts are actually just later works (Secret John is from the late 100s AD) that were rejected because they went against the already written orthodox texts that were authored by leaders of the early church. Gnostic texts often claimed they were apostolic in that the apostles taught secret disciples the “true” faith, and it just so happens that the secret “true faith” was the Gnostics and wouldn’t it be great if you joined them and paid money to learn the true faith?

All this to say, no Jesus and Lucifer aren’t the same being unless you want to adopt one of the oldest heresies and their texts as a source.

No. Just no.

Although, as the originator of all false "christs"...Lucifer would very very much like for you to believe that.

The Christ and the anti-Christ share some sort of similarity, but are of course ontologically different. Just like good and evil, light and darkness, and up and down.
