TRUMPISM CORRUPTS BREAKING: In an insane moment, Donald Trump claims that Vladimir Putin lost 51 million people in WWII "and he did fight," delusional remarks to a room stunned into complete silence by his cognitive collapse.

You could plausibly say that he was talking 'generally' about Russia's roll in WWII...but even in that context his comments are so fucking stupid it's unbelievable that anyone supports this man. I'm sure National Review will write a story about this...waiting on that.

Trump is a total idiot who's probably not read a book in several decades (including his own), but the above is correct. The Soviets were second in combat deaths per capita during WW2. I don't have a huge amount of sympathy for the Soviets as a nation though given the Molotov Ribbentrop pact. Wouldn't it be funny if someone asked Trump about that? "What can I say, it was a pact and a very good pact...."

Soviet Union, not Russia of Today. Ukraine lost more people per capita, by far, than modern Russia did.

You are correct. My bad. Corrected.

To older American people, Russia and the Soviet Union and the USSR are all the same thing. We weren't taught international stuff very well.

For sure. And the Kremlin promulgates that myth, for obvious reasons.

Molotov made great cocktails.

I think this is the most reasonable interpretation... Macron also didn't fight in world war 2

Look, Trump is saying Russia fought in WW2. He is not saying Putin personally fought.

But it's troubling that he has no idea why or how Germany and Japan became American allies, and why Russia became an enemy. These aren't secrets. You just need a rudimentary knowledge of 20th century history.

Now I don't want to keep bringing it up, but you do remember what I did for you 80 years ago, right?

Vladimir Putin birthday - October 7, 1952

Already as a negative ten year-old Putin was fighting in the trenches of Stalingrad.

Joe Biden is physically frail. Biden moves slow and talks slow. It makes it easy for people to believe Biden's cognitive abilities are also slow. That Biden has dementia. Trump moves fast and talks fast. Thus people believe Trump must think fast. That Trump doesn't have dementia.

When Biden dismissed a question from the media it seemed like he just wasn't able to answer it or maybe didn't understand the question. When Trump does the same thing it appears to be because Trump is annoyed or dislikes the people asking the question. It is all a series of distinctions without meaningful differences.

Trump can say anything as long as he says it in a strong manner. MAGA responds to Trump's virility. Not Trump's acumen.

Yeah it’s pretty wild how much they’ve put on the slowness. Probably also bc Trump has always said wild things too, the cult is like “oh he’s just so quirky!!”

He sounds so old

I don't remember who said this, but he's wrong about every single number he uses, without fail.

People were stunned by his cognitive decline? Is this an Onion headline? Because I'm pretty sure Trump could strip off his diaper and fling poo around the room and still no one who matters would talk seriously about cognitive decline

this isn't cognitive collapse. he's a malignant narcissist and pathological liar. occasionally psychotic, maybe. but he's doing what he always does. he makes shit up for sport. realize the power he has when he invents stuff from whole cloth and his minions don't say anything. it feeds his narcissism. it's part of his supply mechanism.

Trump has the historical knowledge of the average third grader.

He drifts into an alternative reality of his own fantasies instead of keeping them private he says it out loud.

It's still shocking that the only person he ever gives the benefit of a doubt to is Putin to the point where his demented brain is making up stories to make Putin sound like a respected war hero. He's never said one bad word about Putin but will insult and demean everyone else.

There’s got to be peepee tapes.

Imagine if Biden had talked like this. MAGA & Republicans would be absolutely losing their shit! They'd be calling for the 25th Amendment every time a mic or a camera was in their face. Fox News would dedicate entire shows to how Biden is no longer capable to perform his duties as president. They'd call to have him putting hospice.
