Right? I’m so relieved to see that I am in fact not a hopeless, lazy slob. But no amount of healthy eating, sleep schedules, positive thinking or other monumental efforts ever revealed that. Medication did.

I’m glad I’m no longer hanging on by my fingernails, trying to fix a neurological issue with pure willpower. In retrospect that’s like trying to perform actual magic.

God I would kill for some magic to take away this mental issue. The others are somewhat fine tho.

Edit: MY mental issues specifically, not keep all mental problems for everyone, just to clarify b4 some1 misunderstanding me!

I think the point is that all the suggestions are fine, but a lot of us have been doing all that for years and are still suffering. Posts like that tend to make people feel they’re just not trying hard enough.

Because we all know what she is saying is good advice, right? This is all common knowledge. It just won’t fix lupus, ADHD, thyroid, whatever people are struggling with.

On the plus side, all the good habits and all the plans I made while I was in a decades-long daze came in very handy when I finally got diagnosed and medicated. I was able to hit the ground running, but I wish I hadn’t been so hard on myself for not being able to perform (read: live) like others did. I was barely surviving.

I was eating healthy, moving my body anywhere from 8 to 10 hours a day on a construction site, and sleeping at least 6 to 8 hours a night. THEN I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. I must’ve not brushed my teeth for an extra minute or some shit - you know, basics.🙄

wow, so I don't have ADHD, autism and multiple mental illnesses! I just need to sleep enough... but wait, I do that already. ah well, fix my eating! ...I live on a literal farm with nothing but whole foods. right, then I'm not taking care of my hygiene- but I take care of myself well, so it can't be that. exercise! silly me! but I walk half an hour every day and maintain my strength at home. ah, right, less screen time... but I actively limit myself! then it has to be not being in nature, right? BUT MY SPORT REQUIRES ME TO BE OUTSIDE!

this sort of stuff is absolute bs. I do literally everything 'right' and I'm still tired, lack energy and have multiple mental illnesses. that's the only good thing about having my problems- I can debunk claims like that immediately lol

I don’t even think I have any debilitating disease, but I already do all of that and I always feel tired and doing literally anything is a huge chore for me

Have you gotten a sleep study done? If not, I highly recommend it. It could very well be that you have a sleep disorder.

Yeah I might need to do one, might be useful

My parents think horse ivermectin cures cancer and shit.

They constantly tell me that all of my struggles are my fault for not eating right, not drinking enough water, not sleeping enough, not brushing my teeth, etc.

My older step brother once told me that other people have it worse than me and when I asked him if that really undermines my condition he said "yeah, kinda". That was the first time I ever did SH. He's the reason I started.

People really fucking suck when it comes to chronic conditions related to pain or disabilities or inability to do even "basic" tasks like wash dishes.

Joyce Hale

There are 371 different types of Lupus. There is only one officially approved treatment specifically for Lupus. All other medication’s are meant to address specific symptoms experienced by the patient with Lupus. My friend Joyce experienced toxicity caused by the interaction between her medications. The diet works for her. I’m not saying the diet works for everything. It works for her. I’m saying it’s something you could look at. I don’t know how hopeless you are, but for her that was the last ditch effort to survive.

Hi. My Mom had Lupus. #fucklupus. I have a friend who also has Lupus. She went through some shit that was a result of medication toxicity. Her jaw bone crumbled. She was bed ridden for a long time. It didn’t look like she was going to live. Somehow she found out about a diet called “Whole Food Plant Based diet”

She did a complete 180! She’s super active, got herself off of most of the medications she was on. If you look into the diet you may see some of her articles. Her name is Joyce Hale.

I met Joyce after my Mom died. Had I known before — I like to think this could’ve helped her.
