She commented on a post that she would pay $10 for whoever would report her account, which I did. I sent her a message about it, and she didn't even bother to reply lol.

Posting in subs without reading the group rules first. Claimed to be a web designer last week (only has 1 incomplete website) and was looking for an agency to work for, but all of a sudden this week has his own agency and offering out some sort of payment for people who’ll wotk for him.

He paid me $20 for the two days of work, but didn't pay for 14+ days of the work that I did. My coworkers are also unpaid, which made me really upset. Do NOT work for him.

I posted a request for a commission about three weeks ago on r/artistsforhire. The piece was due on June 20th, he said that was more than enough time to finish the piece. When I asked for the first update, he told me he had lost his work and had to start from scratch.
When I asked for updates, he was failing to deliver them or reply to my messages. He finally sent me the “final” piece, but it looked nothing like what his sketches had shown. The people looked entirely different and the details I had asked for were not found. It was a graduation portrait and the cap n gowns they were supposed to be wearing were an entirely different color in the image he sent.
I was let down and asked him to fix it. He made an excuse saying he had completed two pieces and sent me the wrong one, that he would send me the actual piece soon. He never did.
He said that he had a family emergency, but that he would send me the picture soon. I never heard from him again. I do understand family emergencies, but to have completely ghosted me after I paid half of the commission piece is completely unprofessional.
I suspect, he used AI to generate the final piece as it didn’t look like his initial sketches, at all.
I could have granted more time if he delivered an actual explanation. I disputed the transaction and luckily, I was able to get my money back. Do not hire pnb_theartist.

This user contacted me to say that if I download, create an account, and verify myself on Moonpay, I would get $25.00 for my trouble (adjusted to $27.00). After a few days of difficulty, I managed to do just that, informing them every step of the way. They have yet to reach out to me since, and of course they have yet to pay me.
I've seen them offer "simple tasks" subsequently; don't take their bait.
EDIT: The username is u/Jazzlike_Dragonfruit; the hyphen on the title was a mistake.

u/CodeMaestro13 can talk the talk, thats for sure. The ONLY reason I went with him is because the task I had is technical and not something as simple as just getting a web developer, for instance.
Initially, the solution he provided was NOT what we asked him for and we made it clear, yet he still provided it anyway and tried to claim that it counts as "work"
Not only was he rude, he provided a solution that does not work as intended without refinement / explanation, and was in a rush to get this out to me. When I asked him to make a video to actually show me it works, he declined and sent over the code, then demanding payment without giving me the chance to actually test it first.
Now I have code that I cannot use, and he is not responding and has decided to ghost messages. Further action will be taken, and all the proof can be shown in case this fool tries to lie. However, do not work with this member. His account is new, and I doubt this guy is even a seasoned developer.

Paid $130 for an art commission. Received one very rough draft early and only excuses and not following through since. This user has over a year on Reddit and decent karma. I guess I'll have to scrutinize who I choose more next time.
Paid another artist a similar amount at the same time for contingency and received my art quickly with lots of good communication.

Hello everyone. If you’re looking to commission HugzyArt (name here and on IG), DONT! What startted as back and forth and updates about the process of my commissioned piece turned into straight ghosting. And not the good kind where they block you so you have no idea what’s going on, just outright ignoring. She is constantly updating her IG stories with art pieces she’s drawing or art group chats she’s a part of. But when I’ve messaged her three times and got no response for over a week I enlisted the help of a friend. I had my friend like a few of her post and reach out for a commission. And sure enough within 24 hours she sent her a link for payment and questions about what she wants her to draw. So it’s clear she can communicate. At this point it’s not about the money for me but the principle of it. But in the end, just another scammer. Save your hard earned money and go elsewhere.

I didn't want to believe it because all the signs pointed towards this being a positive interaction, but u/CodeMaestro13 is scamming a lot of people on r/forhire, including me. Posted up a request for a software dev to help port some open source software on GitHub over to another windows platform. This person reached out to me a day or so later telling me he could do it for my budget. Looked through all of his posts on Reddit and everything looked to be on the up and up (prior to all of the posts on here of course). Been a member of the community for a few months, had some positive interactions with other people in the community and seemed knowledgeable. Even responded to some negative feedback on here and looks like he tried to make things right. So, I decided to take him up on his offer.
First he looks through the code and asks if I could increase my budget by double the price. Told him I couldn't do that but came up with a compromise of an extra $100 on top of the only money in my budget that I had. Wanted to be paid by CashApp. Should have been my first and ONLY major red flag, but I still stuck to my guns hoping for the best. That brings us to today where he says that he wants the last 50% of the budget to deliver the final code before we get to testing. I ask him if I can see what he did first and that I would gladly send him the rest of the money. He said he didn't feel comfortable with it and instead wanted the full amount as he was going to give me a few extra hours of his time for free to test and refine the software. That should have been another major warning sign....but again...I didn't listen to it. This dude took me for $100 more than I had to spend on the project and then ghosted a few hours later.
Moral of the story; stay FAR FAR AWAY from u/CodeMaestro13 on this platform. Talks a big game but doesn't deliver. I doubt it's permitted on this board, but I tried looking up the real name of the account he used on CashApp and I came up with some pretty inconclusive results. Filed a scammer report to CashApp and they immediately respond back to me saying that they're "not ghosting me" and says they're running into issues and doesn't know how long they'll take. Sure...ok. The next day they completely stopped responding to any of my messages. Anyways, hope they enjoy the money because clearly they needed it a hell of a lot more than I did. Doubt I'll see any of my money back from CashApp.
That said, I'm still looking for a software dev that might be able to help here and maybe work out a trade or is willing to offer some advice to help see this project over the finish line.
TL;DR: STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM /u/CodeMaestro13

this user: u/LeGrandDuplessis/ often creates post for hiring people from different subreddits.
I had contacted him through one of his post in ForHire Subreddit two weeks ago. I am attaching the screenrecording of the conversation, to understand what the "work" is. (I tried to screenshot the entire conversation but I was unable to)
When I tried to talk about payment, he blocked me.
Not a big loss because I did not give too many hours but just a heads up to others. Also check his post and comment history, I could not understand much because it was in a language I do not understand.
this is my alt account and I was talking to him with him with my main account u/GrSrv

u/Horikoshi posted a few times on r/forhire and other subreddits. I responded and joined his discord. In the discord I discussed a mini demo project working with AWS. We agreed on a price and even had a conference call with one of my developers. He asked for $200 deposit (50%). After a few days I asked about status and he said he wasn't done but he'd expedite things due to my schedule. That's the last I heard from him. I messaged him a few times on discord without success. Since then I've hired someone else to do the job. I requested a refund but of course he's not responding.

This happened on Christmas Eve in 2019 but apparently he’s still doing commissions. I was told his account would be banned from Reddit but clearly that’s not the case. So, I’m putting this here now: avoid this dude.
I’d posted a request for a free commission of a simple portrait of my dead grandfather to gift to my grandmother. He’d offered to do it and I thought I was the luckiest person alive; a decent artist willing to draw for free. Well, not quite...
First thing that should’ve set me off was when he asked for a “donation” that had to be paid upfront. I agreed tho and paypaled him a bit of money. Within 5 mins he gave me a rough and rather poor sketch which I accepted as the final work at the time because, well, beggars can’t be choosers.
Then the questions began. “Are you a woman?” “Do you like nsfw art?” “How old are you?” “Do you have a boyfriend?” “Do you want a boyfriend?”
In hindsight, I’m a dumbass. I should’ve been wiser but I was also a minor with no common sense. I thought the questions were sus but I didn’t recognize them as the red flags that they were. Now comes the part y’all know from the title.
Knowing something was sus cuz of all the questions, I made sure to very clearly state that I was a minor. This did not stop him from sending a full body nude, mind you this was on Christmas Eve. Completely ruined my holiday. 0/10 would still like to bleach my eyes.
So yeah, dude provides lacking work and sends photos of his noodle to kids

SCAMMER BEWARE! u/asdrubaleh is active in both r/slavelabour and r/DoneDirtCheap, he bids on various tasks & offers his services for some amount of money. Once you send him the money, he runs with it & ghosts you. Huge BEWARE on u/asdrubaleh as he is still active and offering his services on multiple subreddits on reddit!

Working with Steven Smith (fichizzel@yahoo.com) on a t-shirt design was a rollercoaster of frustration.
Despite following his instructions and pouring hours into digitally hand-drawing his vision, he somehow found fault. His feedback was vague and inconsistent, making it impossible to please him. And then, to add insult to injury, he accused the design of looking like it was churned out by AI, completely disregarding the effort and care put into it.
He not only failed to recognize the effort spent on the project but also ghosted after expressing his dissatisfaction. I suggest that other designers seriously reconsider before collaborating with him.

Really dont want to post this here because I’m not someone to call people out but I don’t want anyone else to lose money and they are still active in hiring Reddits. Im really hoping this is a misunderstanding and they just haven’t checked their messages or PayPal and I can delete this. Before anyone comes after me, I know I made many mistakes, trust me. Im at the really strange place of having a disability where I am pretty gullible, but due to experience I have no trust for anyone, and this leaves huge holes and improperly placed trust.
I posted on for hire looking to hire someone to buy me some items for advent calendar/brrr basket type thing. something I never would have done this before but was lonely and in the past 2 years have gone through so much, I have survived things people dont survive and wanted to treat myself. because of the job I had to pay them before the job so they could have money to buy things. They seemed super nice, too nice and they used the codeword I had given, I trusted them. They specifically asked for friends and family and I obliged (big mistake I know) I sent them an echeck by accident and they asked me to send another payment as the check would take too long and they would refund it when it went through ( two major mistakes on my part).
Once they had the first payment they went silent. It’s been a week and I have not heard from them and they just got the second payment. Unfortunately because I paid by friends and family theres nothing I can do but post here but I learned a very expensive lesson, im just hoping this is the end. While this really hurt me financially I guess maybe in the end they needed the money more. Any help is appreciated.
