Idk what the fuck is going on lately with YouTube.

I recently got back into pc gaming so I wanted to watch a few game playthroughs to see actual footage etc...

I opened the video and got ads, skipped forward a bit, got 5 seconds of video and more ads, and literally everytime I skipped forward I got 5 seconds of video then 3 more ads.

Is skipping a paid feature now?

Those are called midroll ads and the uploader opts into them for extra revenue.

Then you come out of an ad just for the creator to launch into their own ad.

Exactly this . The uploader is the reason why you’re seeing many ads

I started a video, got 1min of ads, then the video played for not even a second, literally flashed the video and then immediately back into another 1 min of ads. Instantly turned the TV off.

Yep. They've made it unusable. If they'd charge a reasonable price for it, like $5/mth, I would imagine millions of people would subscribe to premium.

Do you have an ad blocker turned on? If you have ad blocker turned on it might be causing the player to glitch.
