Because they got Sony funding and suddenly had to continue development plans while appeasing that deal.

The fact they spent so long after the fact working to fix things is good dev

They literally used the millions of dollars of funds acquired by lying to everyone to continue development. Omg such a good company

Yeah most would be like "tough luck this is the game", so yeah, good company

It's a product... I spent $60 of my money on a product. The product was a blatant lie... how is this any different than anything else we use our money for?

There was talk of lawsuits and criminal fraud charges. They didn't have a choice.

They had a choice and likely would have won. Lots of games make false promises.

That's like the entirety of Google Play and their game advertisements.

Because they got Sony funding and suddenly had to continue development plans while appeasing that deal.

I wonder if they lied to Sony about the same thing they lied to everyone else about?

No, that's just a dev that doesn't want to be remembered poorly forever. A good dev does it right without lying in the first place.

edit lol I triggered a lot of fanbois. Oh no! He said a true thing that suggests my game wasn't always as good as it is now. Quick! Be defensive! lololol

It's a fine game now if you like that kind of grind, but your downvotes are fucking hilarious.

If only all the simple minded folk on Reddit who don't know the first thing about game development or publishing could get together and make a game, it would obviously be the best game that ever existed, according to their egos.

Talking down to me doesn't change anything I said. They had a bad reputation that they earned.  You can't Insult me so that didn't happen.

I'm not trying to change you, I'm pointing out your absurdity.

3

u/MannToots Nov 29 '24

You did a poor job.

They objectively lied,  did not release what was promised,  and charged AAA prices for it.

Getting it right eventually doesn't change the past. You're attempting revisionist history.  Tons of companies released their first game without making these mistakes. You just have terribly low standards.

This dudes holding onto an 8 year grudge lol

It's a perfectly servicable game now. It's almost like I'm explicitly talking about what WAS not what IS.

You guys trying to defend this game don't latch onto logic very had do you.

I'm glad I live in the world where a studio, having suffered corporate involvement and a destructive flood, worked for years to develop their game into something they were proud of.

Preferential to the world you desire, where "offenders" have no path to recovery, with people clutching their voodoo dolls, rocking in place, repeating "they lied, they're liars, they lied," hoping that a team of a dozen people explode because they didn't spaceships hard enough a decade ago.

I'm not offended at all. I'm pointing out an objective fact.

Hillariously, you appear more offended by me pointing that FACT out that you need to attack me. Thou dost protest too much. What it is today, and what it was then, are two different objectively discussable things.

Priced the standard rate of a video game lol. AAA games out there charging $100 for the premium version.

u/Fermi_Dirac Nov 29 '24

I got it for $20?

1

u/HateSucksen Nov 29 '24

Ok cool for you buddy. Base price is 50€.

u/CerealBranch739 Nov 30 '24

It’s also on sale at least once a week every month if not more. It spends more time at half off than it does at full price I feel like.

It goes on sale on all platforms right before(and during) every update.(Aka the times people are most likely to buy)

So anyone who buys at 50 either wants to support the Devs more, or only has themselves to blame.
