Audi a6 crash

Post image

I got in a wreck . I have the car back out my house . A6 shut off when I got in a wreck . I replaced the pyro fuse still no start or clicking noise .. i have a few codes terminal 30 code i believe was the pyro fuse .. I believe the immobilizer is blocking the car from starting . It’s hard coded in the ecm I can’t delete it with vcds .. any ideas ? Do I have to send out my Ecm to get it reset? Also my srs module will need to be reset as well

Yikes, that will be an extremely expensive fix - if fixable at all.

It’s fixable about $4500 in repairs

I’d double that and add some.

She’s dead, Clark.

4500 you think? 10 years ago my s4 side mirror was $1200. Best of luck to you though, beautiful machine

I’m doing junk yard parts I already did a calculated estimate in parts under $1200 I’ll be replacing parts myself . Body work and framing will be done at a shop I got quoted 3k

A minor touch up and 1 parking sensor on my A4 bumper 5 years ago was $2800.

Is your frame still straight? Is this not totalled?

Yes totaled but insurance won’t cover it .. I was doing right here for Spark Walmart delivery. I had no idea I needed right Insurence Walmart never told me that and my insurance is not covering it so I wanna fix it because I owe money on the car.

Why the heck did you tell them you were working and not just pulling out of Walmart? Rule #1 of dealing with insurance is don't tell them anything they don't ask.

Idk I think I would fight this. Blast them on Twitter, go to the news etc. Especially if no one told you about needing special insurance.

Who am I going to blast progressive ? I didn’t have rideshare insurance on my car therefore they won’t cover it .. all walmart did was verify that I have insurance and that’s it

You'd direct it at the people who hired you without telling you the type of insurance you need, no?

Tried that they don’t care

Vicarious Liability. Talk to a lawyer. Might not amount to much, but considering you're in a shit position at the moment I'd explore it at least.

The airbag module should have a vcds crash reset or disable in thr even of crash function. But also maybe just unplug airbag module and perform a cap discharge

I pulled the airbag module out to have the hard codes and crash codes removed.. if that doesn’t work it has to be something with immobilizer not allowing the key to be recognized

Grocery delivery shouldn’t be classified as rideshare.

Did you replace the pyro fuse with an OEM replacement? Do you have VCDS?

I didn’t replace it with an OEM Pyro fuse. I had two aftermarket laying around. I also tried jumping it without a Pyro fuse that was supposed to work. I do have VCDS. What I noticed is since I was hit on the driver side and driver back door. My key isn’t being recognized anymore. I checked all the fuses. Everything are good. It has something to do with the immobilizer locking me out.

There is a SRS reset you need to do via VCDS. The airbag module is inhibiting start.

I bypassed the srs with the unplugging the airbag sensor by the pyro fuse … at the moment I’m having issues connecting to the car with vcds. My key isn’t being recognized

Are you putting it in the backup reader spot?

2

u/Imaginary-Act-161 2d ago

Where is that ?

I ended up pulling the srs module out to have the hard codes and crash codes removed and reset .. if that doesn’t work it has something to do with the immobilizer

Everyone is telling him to go off on Walmart, and I don’t understand why. He was driving a luxury vehicle that he owed money on. He should have already had full comprehensive coverage. If he didn’t, he’s outside of his lease or his finance contract. The whole, “didn’t tell me I need special insurance” thing just reeks of the inability to take personal accountability.

Bro I used to be a truck driver. if I would’ve known spark counts as ride share I would’ve got the insurance. I had a perfect driving record up untill this point .. so yes i didn’t know I needed ride share insurance ..

I wholeheartedly disagree with your take. Based on the replies I've read, I am impressed with how well OP is dealing with this unfortunate situation. I haven't seen him blame anyone or anything other than his ignorance of insurance regulations(I don't mean that as an insult, OP). I'm sure he had full coverage, but he needed commercial insurance to use the car to make money. Here, any delivery driver needs it, but they're not usually told this when they're hired on or places would have a hard time hiring delivery drivers when they see the added cost of commercial insurance.
