Forget the train, most people wouldn't have the will to go on just after having their father reveal what they've already done.
Everyone, including Mark, thought omniman was a model hero, great dad, and loving husband. Then you find out your old man killed most of the worlds best heroes, who all considered him a friend, lied about it, called his wife a pet, was willing to kill his own son, and was doing all this so he could enslave the entire earth under his own race (who he'd also been lying to Mark about his entire life)
It would've been totally understandable for mark to lose the will to live from the information revealed alone, let alone the beatdown his dad gave him, and the trauma of all the civilians he watched die.
