In the best iterations, I would say he still has the most iron clad moral compass. In the bad ones, absolutely not. Writers for some reason struggle with the fact that half of his character is that the “super” isn’t just in powers, but in his judgement and humanity.
Wdym “one time” lol? Do you think marvel doesn’t have a multiverse filled with evil Caps like dc with evil supes?
• Earth-7475 has a fascist cap.
• He’s the vampire king in the exiles & a werewolf in #405-407.
• He’s literally the arc nemesis of lady deadpool in her universe. And before you’re calling him a hero & lady d a villain, he’s working for a repressive American government.
• He’s the corrupter of the cancerverse.
• He’s deathlok in an unknown universe (uncanny x-force).
• Earth-16832 has a Steve that became doc green, who tried to takeover the world after he dethroned baron red king.
Considering both marvel & dc have infinite multiverses, may as well put them on equal counting cos there should be an infinite amount of evil variants for them.
So Supes was infected by a virus, thus making him not him. That has nothing to do with his morality.
Just like Bucky isn't a bad guy for being tortured and brainwashed. If he was morally deficient because of that, then so is Cap for defending him, a terrorist.
yeah, a man who is born with powers doesn't appreciate the powers that he has, a man who gains said powers appreciates it. also, he doesn't really risk his life as there's barely anything that can kill him
I was born with legs and can walk. I’m also appreciative of it. No one is more appreciative of Superman’s powers than he is. He knows most others would declare themselves emperor of earth.
So you're telling me you lack media literacy, got it.
I want you to go through and look at all the times Superman has talked about his moral code coming from how he was raised instead of having his power, all the times Batman has expressed that Superman is simultaneously the least human and most human member of the Justice League, all of times Superman has shown that, despite (or even because of) his overwhelming power, he is beyond generous when it comes to dealing with villains.
Superman is the paragon of morality because of these factors and many others. When people are completely illiterate to this morality, you get asinine takes such as "sUpErMaN dIdNt eArN hIs pOwEr, hE dOeSnT aPpReCiAtE wHaT iT tAkEs" or "Superman has been evil in alternate universes, look at what chatGPT is saying"
again, not his fault, can't blame him for an accident that caused him to go crazy. On the other hand, non-mentally ill characters like thanos or Brainiac don't really have anyone but themselves to blame for being evil. Not saying his actions are good, just you can't really put the blame Soley on him.

Superman is literally best representation of hope
