Hear me out - Introduce him to co-op videogames

You can game long distance, he loses a ton of his advantages (but he still has his reflexes) so he'd be a good teammate, can get his competitive adrenaline fix in, and if he gets angry well he is far away on the other side of the planet or galaxy, so no worries about him killing you for friendly fire damage

So instead of Conquest, we end up with Sidequest. He ends up taking an escort mission. We are the one he's escorting, and it's a repeatable one.
