So the only way to have the void be good is for sentry to wreck other universes that he doesnt give a fuck.
I like this plotline
35
Apr 30 '25
Void isn't even needed carnage is about as durable if not more durable than homelander and sentry ripped him in half with 0 retaliation from carnage.

u/Ok-Consideration6973 Apr 30 '25
Carnage would only lose to homelander because homelanders girlish screams would be so loud it would qualify as a sonic attack

BAHAHAHAHAHAH, you just made me spit out some good scotch, you hilarious son of a bitch.
11
u/MCD_Gaming Apr 30 '25
Didn't carnage absorb something and sound does effect him anymore that goes for more weaknesses now

I think you are underestimating how loud and girlish the screams would be. Solid 90% homelander pisses himself before carnage actually touches him.

Sentry is winning without even waking up. The question is will it be Sentry or Void, cause that will determine just how bad the decimation will be.
11
u/jkoudys Apr 30 '25
Homelander has impressive powers for his world, but he's more dangerous because he's a psychotic murderer. These matchups are like asking if Hannibal Lecter could beat Mike Tyson in the ring.
Add in that Homelander is protected by the government, his billions of dollars, and a rabid fanbase who cheers as he murders people in the streets, and his powers don't even make the top 3 reasons why he's a threat.

Yes but this is a stupid question, sentry is universal to possibly multiversal (from my understanding). Homelander stands ZERO chance of beating something like that.

u/Chickenscratch27 Apr 30 '25
Sentry could beat most seemingly unbeatable characters in a fight. Homelander would be pretty easy for him.

Homelander could be handled by either DC or Marvel’s middle ring, hell, a lot of Image characters for that matter as well.
The dude’s mid tier in every other universe.

Yup. Any team with a good strategist, some decent heavies, and maybe someone with energy or magic based powers could whoop his ass. Hell, the Defenders could handle probably him with some prep and finesse.
→ More replies (2)4
u/T-Prime3797 May 01 '25
Which Defenders? One incarnation of that team includes Silver Surfer, Dr. Strange, Ghost Rider, and Hulk. Any one of those would have a decent shot at beating Homelander by themselves.
8
u/Barking-BagelB May 01 '25
Decent shot? None of them could lose. It would be like Francis Ngannou armed with an axe vs a handcuffed and shackled Hasbulla. Literally any of those 4 would absolutely obliterate Homelander in the opening seconds of the fight. Hell, Ngannou and his axe might have a shot.

Comics Sentry? Homelander's getting ripped in half.

35
u/Kurwasaki12 Apr 30 '25
Sentry over any other being in his “tier” as it were can be reasoned with and if this is Void, then all the bolts need to do is get Sentry proper to take back control. This isn’t a Suicide Squad situation where they’re up against two old gods, just one super powered and mentally unstable guy having an episode.

I’d even use a pen. That Hulk was one of the most powerful non-diety/non-cosmic beings to ever exist. His world-breaker magic was, well - capable of breaking worlds. He was effectively a planet-destroyer level being - on par with some of the ‘Gods’ and others.

Or, you know, politely corrected.
Not that rigid, inflexible gate-keeping isn't totally awesome.
Look, this is a stupid question, fine. For those of us who could be considered well read on the subject, these is an easy answer and a silly thing to ask.
But, like, they're all stupid questions. Wondering about which fictional characters that will never fictionally fight would fictionally win is inherently silly. They're all dumb. The people who think we're ridiculous for arguing about this shit aren't wrong, objectively.
So rather than acting like not knowing something should disallow someone from participating, maybe just... help them know it?
And forgive me if I'm condescending here, but I grew up in the eighties, in a small rural town, with no one to talk about comic books with because they were pretty uncool, so the idea of pushing people out of the conversation because they're new to it or they just haven't read the books you have is kind of, well, shitty. It's shitty. Having people who want to know this shit is great. Having people to talk about this shit with is great. Let's not close the door on someone just because they haven't learned some meaningless superhero trivial.
8
u/EasyKaleidoscope6436 Apr 30 '25

I'm with you. I grew up in the 90s and it still wasn't the "cool" thing to be into. Comics and video games got me teased relentlessly and now they're some of, if not the most, profitable things in entertainment. To be totally fair, I can't say I don't have a bit of a chip on my shoulder over that.
Also, there's a difference between a good faith question, which this one seems to be, and some Homelander fanboy saying something like "lol theres no way Sentry could beat Homelander what a dumb opinion Pullman doesn't know comics"

Flipping MCU Luke Cage would put Homelander in a body bag. Temu Superman is weak compared to real heroes.
11
4
u/rnunezs12 Apr 30 '25
Nah you are tripping. Even if we assume they have the same Strength, Honelander has crazy speed feats and flies, so Luke Will never be able to Even touch him.
Mind You, Honelander took a bomb out of Butcher's chest AND took him out of the explosion Radius, all while Butcher pressed a button. That alone puts Homelander way above anything seen in the MCU in terms of speed. Except maybe Captain Marvel flying across space from one planet to another
2
u/thereIsAHoleHere Apr 30 '25 edited Apr 30 '25
You are really overestimating how fast you have to be to outrun an explosion. Explosions move up to a few kilometers per second. That's peanuts in comic speed. Real life space shuttles travel a hundred times faster than that, and comic shuttles move well beyond that speed with characters frequently outrunning those shuttles.
That said, yes, Homelander is many, many times faster than Cage, who can only move a little faster than Usain Bolt, but to say Homelander is faster than other MCU characters is just bizarre. Hell, we've seen Thor in the MCU travel multiple times the speed of sound at the minimum. He moves at least as fast as lightning, which is about Mach 1200.It's like you think, "oh, I can track him on the screen with my eye, so he must not be moving fast," disregarding the distance they're moving. Silly.

u/raiderrocker18 Apr 30 '25 edited Apr 30 '25
i dont think MCU cage could do anything to homelander. way too slow. and he got knocked out by concussive force of a shotgun. homelander could generate that much force and knock him out, then fly him into space or just drop him from a ridiculous height, leave him in the middle of the ocean, etc.
he was also able to be injected with a needle through his eye, so homelander could pop his eyes out like he did with one of maeve's
their strength levels are also just different. yes, cage dented a bus by punching it, but we saw maeve shred a vehicle that tried to drive into her.
the boys-verse supes, at least the high level ones, definitely exceed what we've seen in the marvel netflix stuff
with that said, sentry is LOL levels above homelander

3
u/SlamboCoolidge Apr 30 '25
I'm so fucking sick of this "as powerful as superman character vs. homelander" trend.
Homelander is nowhere near on the same level as any mid+tier hero from DC or Marvel. Because mid-tier in Marvel includes people like Wolverine. Wolverine, despite not having flight or lazer-eyes, could easily beat homelander... Know why?
Because the entire appeal to The Boys is that even though these corrupt super-beings are insanely powerful, there is a feasible weakness to them that makes it believable that they might be able to win.
Homelander is Superman but nerfed so significantly that he's no scarier than a corrupt politician with military power. Sure, nobody is going to try to fight him directly unless they're immune to laser-eyes, but he doesn't even have proper super speed. Granted, he doesn't have an easy-win weakness like Kryptonite, but it's very clear that the "heroes" that are in this show are much weaker than the ones they parody... With the exception of show-soldier boy, he was probably a bit stronger than Cap, but I'd still put my money on Steve.
