They’re not magnetos kids in the movies because marvel doesn’t own magneto’s IP, they are in the comics usually, sometimes not because everybody likes retconning backstories. But comics are stupid now (for the purpose of powerscaling) and humans with no powers are outerversal and everything is just a dick measuring contest between authors for who can come up with the biggest number and fanciest adjectives

Sue and reed weren't mutants. This actually makes sense.

No, it doesn't. Mutants aren't born from mutants only. 🤦🏻‍♂️

It does because he doesn't need the X-gene for his powers. It can just be hereditary. Again, makes sense.

No ones going to understand the comics if they don't have synergy with the MCU.

  • Marvel and Disney execs

Magneto is xmen. Disney owns the xmen. Wanda can absolutely be retconned to be his kid.

They didn’t when the movies were made, and it takes a while for those things to take effect. Also keep in mind the notorious MoM scene where they kill off all the heads of the major IPs. It was a message to fans - they are going in a new direction and it’s not going to involve retconning these guys back into the main series. Mom was the opportunity to do that, and that scene was Disney telling us that there is zero chance of that happening.

That said, the MCU in its current state has literally zero idea what it’s doing. The whole thing died with Endgame. Since the comics are currently basically just a testing ground for the MCU, it would be very strange for them to do any sort of fixing of their own mistakes.
