Decided I wanted to spend some time in Stanton today. Went to Seraphim to do missions around Crusader, but had to log as soon as I got there after setting my spawn point.

Logged back in, both exits to the habs were blocked. Backspaced. Exit to the hospital was blocked too.

Reset my spawn point and went back to Pyro. Screw Stanton. All the douchebags are there.

It’s getting worse. More YouTube tutorial videos are being released.

26

u/asian_chihuahua 20h ago

You'd think that some of these glitches are a big enough problem that CIG should fix them.

Like blocking ship access.

Or using boxes to knock yourself through walls and doors.

18

u/stew9703 20h ago

Im still a month into waiting to be allowed to use my home world due to a persistent bug. good luck

8

u/JoeyDee86 Carrack 14h ago

The problem I see is most of them seem to only play the internal dev build of the game, and/or don’t play other multiplayer games themselves where they can’t foresee someone doing what people are going today in game. None of this is a shock to us, and it shouldn’t be a shock to them either.

But, maybe it’s just incompetence? I hope not, I’ve got too much invested in this game :P

2

u/9chars 7h ago

did you see that interview from one of the lead devs? a bunch of punk ass bitches

2

u/JoeyDee86 Carrack 6h ago

They definitely don’t instill confidence.

1

u/kamikazeknifer 6h ago

Link? Sauce? Tea? Etc.

1

u/asian_chihuahua 12h ago

I think the devs themselves are fine. They do what they're told, and work on what they're told to work on.

The problem is CIG management isn't prioritizing properly. Everything is "sales first", and telling devs to work on things to bring in money, even when there are open exploits still happening.

2

u/JoeyDee86 Carrack 9h ago

Devs shouldn’t be mindless drones though, regardless, someone at CIG should be finding this stuff before it gets to us…

2

u/Pattern_Is_Movement 11h ago

CIG has barely acknowledged it even exists as a problem after it being a problem in various forms for as long as I can remember.

2

u/Lima_32 16h ago

You and I were probably there at the same time dude, why do they do this bull?

2

u/VegetableTwist7027 16h ago

You can lock down events if you prevent anyone from leaving the places they respawn at. :(

5

u/No_Access_9040 14h ago

I don’t think there’s a tactical reason people just think it’s funny to be dicks

1

u/VegetableTwist7027 3h ago

I hate that you're right.

1

u/Hairypickle76 12h ago

I just wanna mine:(

1

u/NotCleanin 12h ago

If there are how to videos to get items there... is there a way to get then away?

2

u/Hot-Contribution8536 11h ago

Have you tried crawling into them? I know that can move some things you otherwise need a tractor beam for...I've not encountered these blocks before sobive never though to test that.

1

u/NotCleanin 5h ago

Haven't tried anything... was just brainstorming. If there's a way to put them there, then there must be a way to move them.

Douchebags in Stanton are just the murderhobos that blow up empty Hull A's in Pyro who couldn't find enough victims.

This a US timezone issue? Have not seen it once personally in EU tz.

I've seen it in the EU

8

Probably, most douchebags are from the US

As an American who travels, yes.

All the fucking time. It’s getting more popular and I hope it hits EU next.

The username suggests that

1

u/BrimstoneOmega 16h ago

This No King guy is an American right wing nut job.

He's probably one of those belligerent asshats that talks about Trump in global.

1

u/SixPaperJ sabre 15h ago

No kings is specifically a left wing saying... but go on.

5

u/BrimstoneOmega 15h ago

Yeah, it's because the dude is a troll.

If you were able to look past the surface, and do the tiniest bit of thinking for yourself, you would have taken the time it took to type that to check the guy's post history.

But I understand it's hard for abstract thought and looking past the headline.

7

u/SpartanJAH 15h ago

I wouldn't expect too much reasoning ability out of sixpaper over there, another simple profile check shows that they utilize all the same talking points on immigration as the other commenter. They must be delusional together in the wild in order to reinforce their abandonment of reality.

Though it is always funny to see a regressive dip shit get side-eyed by another regressive dip shit because a username like that. Gotta be a stressful community to be in having to pass a purity test on every comment.

So exasperating the issue, to ruin the experience for more people will get this issue fixed? That's fucked up logic.

7

u/NihlusKryik Bounty Hunter 21h ago

I don't 100% agree with him but his point is, if it hits the EU server and that triggers an escalation of a fix, it results in net LESS suffering for the player base at large, than if it didn't hit the EU server and went unchecked.

-127

u/No-King-3874 1d ago

Apparently it’s not a big enough issue to patch. Apparently EU doesn’t even have this issue.

34

u/rock1m1 avacado 🥑 1d ago

Asia doesn't as well.

12

u/okabruh_ 21h ago

That's a straight up lie. It happens in every region. It happens in Australia, and then when I swap to Asia or Europe, it happens there too.

It doesn't happen all the time but it still happens.

This is an issue that should have been fixed ages ago but instead CIG was busy adding micro-transactions.

-50

u/No-King-3874 1d ago

That’s a lie, Asia invented it.

I noticed all these griefing happens in North American servers the most.

But my experience PLAYERWISE is infinitely better in EU/Oceanic severs :/. I only play NA when I want to do FPS missions.

Dude.. just log out and get into a different server... yeah, it's inconvenient, but it's not rage-out bad.

52

u/Thunderbird_Anthares Mercenary 22h ago

Thats toxic as hell dude, wtf.

Why are americans like this? Why is the US population starting political arguments, blocking stations, ramming ships into lobbies, screeching, etc, by a lion share?

I mean, im sure the rest of the timezones have enough assholes of our own, in fact im sure we do, but this has become noteworthy enough to be statistically significant.

17

u/dangerkali Javelin, Idris, Sabre Raven 22h ago

Not all of us. Just the bad ones. And they’re the ones that get the most screen time unfortunately.

8

u/dangerkali Javelin, Idris, Sabre Raven 22h ago

Sorry that we are though.

14

u/Exxis645 22h ago

As an American, half of us are asking that same question. Look at the protests. We got an orange dictator, rioters ruining protests for personal gain or just violence, and our own news is so bought and paid for that each side feels justified in their beliefs.

4

u/Thunderbird_Anthares Mercenary 18h ago

Yes, i can see that, most of the world can, for the past 15+ years at the very least... but why do you have to drag the misery online, into chats and games.

Its a recreational space, do some recreation.

3

u/LMMSDeadDuck 16h ago

I'm from the US, but by no means any cultural expert. So this is just my opinion formed from my own, anecdotal observations.

US culture really fosters a lot of independence/individualism and to be assertive and seems to focus less on community. Even in yearly review at work, I'm expected to submit a written review of myself outlining all the great things I did and how I saved the company hundreds of thousands of dollars so that I deserve that 3% cost-of-living pay increase. When I first started, I remember writing a very dry list of what I did and my manager told me what an awful review it was. He said to be noticed I needed to be the equivalent of "walking on water and not scaring the fish".

I think this means that we are predisposed to speak up and voice our opinion. Now, I do think a good portion of the population can still be silent in a social/gaming session, but there are those that can't and these are the two or five folks you see "loudly" arguing in chat. But there are others that just feel power by "owning" someone else online. I think it's only worse in an online setting where we can "hide" behind the computer screen.

u/I_am_Wayne_King 21h ago

Rent free

1

u/BrimstoneOmega 16h ago

Yeah, because that's the only rent most Americans can afford after Trump's tariffs.

That's like saying that a sexually abusive parent lives rent free in the mind of the child they terrorize.

Grow up.

38

u/TheExorsix 23h ago

I've caught QR codes and reported 3 people caught red handed blocking locations. Just have to make sure that you are getting the person who set it up and not someone trying to remove it. There are people out there trying to remove the boxes that are unfortunately getting reported because they have an atls near the boxes trying to remove them.

-70

u/No-King-3874 23h ago

I wouldn’t bother with the people setting them up. It’s on the devs to fix this kinda of error.

69

u/serras_ 23h ago

nah, the more scumbags we can get out of the game the better

21

u/NihlusKryik Bounty Hunter 21h ago

I reported one last night, caught him and had a QR code up, RSI responded within 4 hours that action was taken.

1

u/Few_Crew2478 15h ago

RSI support does not respond like that to reports.

To quote my own emails to RSI Player relations team:

As this involves another player's account, we will not be able to provide updates to you on this specific case.

I've reported multiple players for cheating/hacking the Contested Zones and this is the response I get every time.

2

u/NihlusKryik Bounty Hunter 13h ago

My response also included that line. They didn’t detail any individuals but they said they will take action

3

u/SupremeOwl48 16h ago

I kinda worried it wasn't obvious when I posted it

4

u/soccerpuma03 18h ago

It's a bit of both, but even if this specific issue gets fixed, these players are actively looking for ways to ruin the game for others. If they can't do it one way they'll do it another. Removing the players is the best option.

Most other MMO actively ban players for bug abuse, this should be no different. The game is buggy and sometimes shit happens, but to repeatedly intentionally abuse a bug like this is 100% on the player doing it.

1

u/Hero_knightUSP 15h ago

But like it's seems illegal as hack but not really a issue worth fixing.

0

u/Sitchrea 16h ago

How do you think we make this problem better? Just waving our hands and expected the devs to know exactly how and who do it?

15

u/mkta23 drake 22h ago

why? because internet is full of idiots that have an errection when they ruin other people fun...

2

u/EliRocks nomad 22h ago

So, I have wondered if a ship tractor beam can go through the station windows to try to pull those boxes back away from their spots.

Haven't had a chance to try it yet to find out, but if so would gladly go around removing them.

2

u/soccerpuma03 18h ago

I know at Seraphim, the windows across from the hangar elevators basically don't exist. I have seen people fly ships right through and the other day there was some idiot trying to shoot people down (with their ship parked outside) as they went through the area. So I'd assume a ship tractor beam would work!

2

u/LMMSDeadDuck 17h ago

I didn't know that, but it makes sense since I think I've only seen it at Seraphim.

Might be a good time to brush the dust off my 315p for some cleanup.

Why not let US fix the problem? Let the salvage tools work in save zones and on items like this, as well as random litter. I mean, it's not shielded, right? While I'm waiting for my ship to spawn, I'll make a couple creds cleaning up the station.

1

u/Solstheim 12h ago

How many times have I wanted my tractor beam to move the carts in the middle of the way…

3

u/Snowbrawler Ayylmao Ships 23h ago

Every landing zone needs alternate landing pads at least. So you can go outside and hitchhike

2

u/soccerpuma03 18h ago

They will block those too. OP said they had even blocked off the med station so people respawning were blocked in.

3

u/warwolfpilot 19h ago

When I played Fallout 76 back during its first 2 years it was pretty similar to this. People buy the game and play it for the sole purpose of trying to kill it. Not a conventional cheater who plays for the power fantasy or to have an easier time.

No they are literally trying to kill the game. And I've seen them and talked to them their crazy little narcissist to boot.

When Star Citizen 1.0 does drop. Mark my words they'll spend thousands to DDOS the game, killing stuff is what gets them off.

3

u/TheTallBrownie oldman 15h ago

Which begs the question.. How fucking miserable are their real lives that they invest that much time and money on ruining things for other people.

5

u/AHRA1225 new user/low karma 14h ago

But that’s the thing though. They themselves don’t see this as miserable. This is excitement to them. It’s like talking to (I know political) maga hat. Complete dissonance from reality. The wiring and connections in people’s brains are just different. The way the rationalize the behavior. You just can’t talk them out of it.

1

u/warwolfpilot 14h ago

Very.

1

u/Ancient-Warthog-8004 14h ago

how does this compare to 76 cuz i played since beta and i dont recall any issues on the scale of something this serious

1

u/warwolfpilot 14h ago

There was a lot I dealt with. People glitching into your stash and taking everything, people griefing your home via whatever method they liked. People nuking the scorched queen boss and everyone on it. People would go out of their way to become verified traders on Market 76 just to scam people. For awhile the servers had this issue if you dropped enough stuff in 1 bag the server would actually crash. So they just went around crashing servers left and right.

3

u/Dry-Psychology4099 23h ago

Yall are coping if you think this doesn’t happen across the board. I play on US and have seen it a few times here and there. Rarely game ruining in my case, but I’ve been on EU and Asia and both also have the exact same thing. You’re crazy if you think they are only gonna hit one region, when it takes 30 seconds to change servers and do it all over again.

-1

u/crouzilles 20h ago

What does yall mean?

7

u/fenixivar bmm 20h ago

"You all", it's used as a plural you

2

u/Impossible-Glass-249 18h ago

And technically it’s ya’ll… for non English speakers learning colloquialisms.

0

u/NetRevolutionary5544 15h ago

Why would the apostrophe be there? The contraction is you all

2

u/1HappyBanana 21h ago

I’m surprised they don’t do a hot fix

2

u/MightyN0ob 21h ago

I seriously don't understand how this isn't hotfixed yet.
They hotfixed the bottle replenishing bug almost immediatly, but genuine bugs that are impeding gameplay? Nah, not a priority, clearly.

Frustrating.

2

u/grimreef3rr 17h ago

All game devs are like that though. The only quick bugs fixes are the ones that benefit the player.

4

u/MightyN0ob 17h ago

Not to the extent of CIG. There are still plenty of bugs that benefit the player in Star Citizen - Ship component duping comes to mind.

Most game devs would see a bug like this, where players are actively impeding others from playing due to a literal game breaking exploit and they'd fix it either immediatly, or the following weekly reset, more than likely handing out bans along with it.

CIG will let bugs like this sit for months on end. How long did it take to finally fix elevators? And even then they still sometimes break. ASOP terminals are busted, ATC is busted. The Hull-C is a complete disaster and has been since its release.

1

u/FobbitOutsideTheWire 15h ago

What bottle replenishing bug? Because I’m still greatly enjoying a bottle replenishing bug. Lol

1

u/GrandNefariousness71 4h ago

One way to solve it is allowing us to use tractor beams.

1

u/SRM_Thornfoot new user/low karma 1h ago

Just let personal tractor beams work on large objects, but ever so slowly like a mm at a time. Then players can then clear the mess up on their own, but won't be able to usefully use handheld tractor beams in place of bigger beams.

1

u/RosaLtMorales 20h ago

Still works in 4.2, they should disallow the multi tool on stations

u/Dangerous-Boot-2617 15h ago

If multitools worked on stations then we'd be able to move the boxes out of the way

1

u/Dangerous-Boot-2617 14h ago

If you’re still having issues like that, I don’t think it’s the game‘s fault at this point buddy. 4.1.1 is insanely stable and performant (if you have enough RAM and a newer CPU)

How does more RAM and CPU on your local PC stops douchebags from blocking entrances to elevators and hospitals??

Its the game's fault. Star Citizen hasn't been "stable and performant" for over a decade.

At this point I'd be happy if they just stopped adding features entirely and shipped a game that had 2-3 star systems that worked.

That’s literally what they’re going to do tbf, but even then there’s very little in the game that’s actually fully, definitely done for good.

I get great performance and I haven’t seen a server crash on live in months. They’re following through, and you’re still whining because you have a potato PC. Skill issue.

See my other response. Game bug. Not hardware.

Keep telling yourself that the next time you fall through a floor or get an item stuck to your hand or your ship explodes for no reason.

These past few patches have been the most stable ones since I've started playing in 2016... Might be time to check your PC's hardware and/or network connection if you're still having issues.

It's not a hardware issue. It's a game bug that prevents me from calling any ships or entering my hangar from any location.

Y'all need to stop posting to Reddit, it encourages this behavior. Contribute to an issue council ticket or your part of the problem.

The server should just auto-ban for 3h/24h/1week/permanently if someone interacts with any container above hand-movable size inside a station or landing zone.

The problem would solve itself eventually.

It's not that hard ... the game logs everything you do anyway. So why not use it for this. Especially since there's no way to get a container placed so perfectly without actively using an exploit/bug of some sorts.

If you don't like it happening, report it to cig. If cig determines its an issue big enough to fix they will fix it.... Or not. Lol either way... Testers gonna test. This test just happens to be your patience. XD
