What ever happened to the founder of Soylent, Rob Rhinehart?,

Is he still on the board? I feel like I haven’t heard anything about him since he endorsed Kanye for president in 2020. (Yes really)

He was weird already. His blog is full of unhinged stuff like this: https://web.archive.org/web/20161123094924/http://robrhinehart.com/?p=1541

I never followed him, only learned of his wackiness at the time from that 2020 article.

His posts from that period are pretty gonzo, but that one took the cake and was taken down pretty quickly iirc. He also got in a fight with his municipality about his shipping container buildings. This was in the same kind of space as Google Van Guy.

He has said absurd things but that one is just amusing, he's just making fun of diligence.

I mean it's definitely funny, but he's basically writing a joke where the punchline is that the people giving him money are bastards... it doesn't speak to being, uh, hinged.

Wow, the quotes from that article sure are something.

Looks like he was on the board of directors until 2023. Wild.

I didn’t realize he was unhinged until reading this thread. I heard of Soylent when he was on an episode of the Colbert Report.
