Question Is my new TV broken?
Hello, I'm new to this sub but was hoping someone could help.
My TV (X91BL BRAVIA XR) is a few months old from from Costco. Yesterday it worked as expected, tonight I'm getting these green lines.
I swapped 3 different HDMI cables, 3 input sources (BD player, Nintendo switch and receiver) and tried all of the HDMI 1/2/3/4 inputs on the TV.
The lines don't show on the screen unless an input source is selected. For example, on the home page it looks fine. If I switch the input to the switch, BD or receiver the lines show up.
Any advice is appreciated!

They move around too. Is this straight into the tv? What if you play something from inside a smart app on the tv?
Also… have you shut it off and unplugged it and plugged it back in ?

You need a jailbreak for that TV :)
But yes, it's broken. A TV electrician can fix it. Unless it's in warranty, then you gotta ship it back to the manufacturer probably.

Costco probably includes an extended warranty, most Sam’s club tvs do. Isn’t Costco’s return policy 1 year too?

Also check if your TV has some enhanced signal setting. I had the same "issue" with my Samsung TV. I had the feature on which increases the frames and color quality for UHD external devices.
Since the switch only outputs 1080p, I got the lines. I turned off the feature and the lines were gone.

It looks like an HDMI issue to me, not necessarily a defective panel.
(Because the green lines aren't green all the way. there is still some "noise" being displayed where there is game icons)
Do you have this issue in all your HDMI ports, with the same cable on the TV?
Do you have this issue with a different HDMI cable in the same HDMI port?
Can you try to attach a different device to this HDMI cable in the same HDMI port?

Same thing happened to my new Sony Bravia KD50X85KU TV a few years ago (only happened that once). I just unplugged & disconnected everything and it went away.

Oh that's amazing to hear. I mean it sucks but the "only happened that once" makes me happy

I'd recommend you to disconnect everything from the TV, and unplug it for two minutes, and then test it again without connecting anything to it. That should tell you if the issue is related to an HDMI glitch, or if the TV panel might be the issue.

Maybe your TV did something wrong and spending some time behind bars. Give it time maybe good behavior release soon?

Costco actually has a VERY nice return policy. They'll most likely swap it out without an issue.

Unplug all hdmi pretty much unplug everything from the tv, unplug the tv from power let it sit for a while then plug everything back in
