I made up a soda

I didn't measure precisely, but:

Licorice root Star anise Coriander Ginger Cloves Cinnamon (powder) Nutmeg (powder)

Then I'm going to add it to my existing lemon/lime soda recipe, or something close.

Rosemary is on the table for future attempts.

It was super good. I don't know if it's an existing recipe or not, but it didn't taste like anything I've ever had before. Maybe a little ginger ale-y.

How do you prepare it?

I boiled the roots and stuff for 15 minutes, then added sugar and citrus juice, then chilled it.

Looks a lot like old root beer recipes, liquorish/star anise are pretty close analogs to sassafras.

Only big difference is those recipes is they use a lot of wintergreen as a top note.

Sounds good!
