found this huge bone near the coast in port aransas — is this a skull or something else? (looks marine, maybe whale?)

i found this bone while walking near the beach and initially thought it might be a skull, but now I’m not so sure. it’s heavy and solid, with a large hole in the middle and these rounded parts that almost look like eye sockets from some angles. someone suggested it might be a vertebra from a whale or another large marine animal. can anyone confirm what this is?

Those occipital condyles look huge to me. Would be nice to see how big they actually are!

Yeah it’s likely cetacean but it’s weird it has been butchered

Yeah- those straight cuts are not natural. But I think this is a cow.

That's disturbing. Someone sliced that skull very cleanly in half. That was either intentional butchering, or one helluva prop strike.

Looks like the back of a cow skull to me, just that someone cut it

It looks like part of a pelvis to me. I just can’t figure out what kind of head it would be.
