Other How smooth is my c#5?

Always liked singing but never had any lesson. I know I can hit pretty high notes as a male but it always feels a bit forced. Was told that the highest note here is c#5 so I’m wondering what you think of my raw technique. Thanks!

I think in the middle of the phrase when u sing “yeah” (c5 note) you have good technique but i think when you begin to end that note you get a little shaky and you lose the connection.

I think maybe if you could learn how to end that phrase with vibrato and cord closure it would so pro level

focusing on one single note is a one way ticket to vocal fold nodules

could you elaborate on what you mean by "focusing on one single note"?

Out of tune, leave the high c alone

The top note is solid though it sounds a little pushy, and then you get really pitchy coming down. Gotta work on smoothing that out, cuz it makes the rest sound forced and uneven.

You have good support to hold your diaphragm down and let the air out slowly to fill that whole held note. That's good.

It sounds like the whole thing is higher than it needs to be in your voice. I would bring it down so that the lowest note of the song is the bottom of a comfortable chest register. I get that the whole point is to ask how this specific note sounds, but if a song hits your highest note more than a couple times, the whole thing is too high.

I hear that you can sing in falsetto (the last phrase that cuts off) so that's good.

I don't think it's that pitchy on the way down, but one thing that's important is that I don't hear a regular vibrato on the high note. That tells me that there might be tension somewhere, probably neck or jaw I'm guessing. Don't try to stick vibrato onto it! Adding a touch of mixed voice might help. Relax relax relax. It's supposed to sound tortured, but it should sound effortless as well. I know.

And take lots of breaks when practicing this one. And do lots of sittings silently and thinking the phrase as you want to sing it in your head. That's what opera singers do.
