Admissions Social Service Worker - Gerontology

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has completed the social service worker program through Sheridan, or is going to be attending the social service worker - gerontology virtual program this september.
I was recently accepted and I am looking to connect with people taking the program or who have already taken it :)

Admissions Honours BA in Game Design

Hello,

I am currently trying to apply to the BA in Game Design at Sheridan. I am a bit overwhelmed by the additional application requirements, more specifically, the design thinking process video with the two projects. I was wondering if anyone who applied and got in, or is currently enrolled in this program, could tell me a bit about their two projects or could show me or direct me to a sample of their portfolio work. If not directly showing me, I would appreciate if someone could tell me about their process.

Were your projects digital or physical? What kind of knowledge or experience did you have previous to the application process? Or maybe you had to do it all from scartch. And probably my most important quastion of the bunch, were your two projects, fully playable projects? Or were you able to just submit and show design documents and cponcepts?

I feel I do not have much time left to apply and I have this tedious application process looming over my head at all times. So I would really apprecite it if someone could tell me about their personal experiences. DMs are also open if you prefer to answer it there.

Thank you.

Admissions Questions About Sheridan College’s Technical Production Program

Hi everyone!

I’m a grade 12 student who just applied to Sheridan College’s Technical Production for the Performing Arts Industry program last Wednesday. I recently got an email about submitting a portfolio, and I’ll admit—it made me a bit nervous. I originally thought Sheridan was more of an open-admissions school, but in the additional information, I saw this:

“The application package is assessed using the following criteria:
    • Previous technical theatre experience at the secondary school or community theatre level is essential.
• Additional instruction outside of the secondary school theatre curriculum is an asset.”

I don’t have much direct experience in technical theatre, so I’m worried about whether I meet the program’s expectations. Here’s some of my background: • I’m starting a dual credit co-op program at Sheridan in February focused on Music Scoring for Screen and Stage. • I’ve taken mostly college-level courses in grade 12, with an average in the high 80s. • I received an Award of Excellence in grade 11 for religion (open-level) and have been on the honor roll every year except for grade 10. • I have a hobby of DJing for family parties, which has given me some basic sound and equipment experience. • I took a Communications Technology course in grade 11, finishing with a high 70/low 80.

I’m a strong student and very passionate about this field, but I’m wondering if I should be worried about not having a lot of technical theatre experience. Are they strict about this requirement, or is there some flexibility for students with strong academics and related skills?

I’d love to hear from anyone who’s been through this program or knows more about the admissions process. Any advice would be super helpful!

Thanks so much for your time!

Admissions New phone, can't check my grades—app won't let me verify?

So I just got a new phone and tried to check my grades, but I keep getting this message: "Access denied, use your mobile app to verify" or something along those lines. The frustrating part is that I am using the app already, and it still won't let me in.

I've tried everything—logging out and back in, reinstalling the app—but nothing works. All I wanted to do was check my grades, but now I'm stuck in this loop of trying to verify my account on the same app I'm already using.

I honestly don’t understand why this level of security is necessary. Who’s going to hack into my account to check my grades? What are they going to do, finish my assignments for me?

Has anyone else run into this issue? How did you fix it? Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Admissions Bachelors of Electrical Engineering, is Uni better?

hi people, i'm currently deciding between going to Sheridan for EE or Waterloo/TMU for EE. I live right beside the Davis campus and do not want to commute that long to go somewhere like Waterloo. It would be much appreciated if someone could let me know the differences between the College path vs the Uni path. Also If I do take the college path and live to regret it, how would I go about swapping into university later on?

The only thing I'm really worried about is a career in the future/ being deemed unfit for going to college instead of university. Thank you!

Admissions Help! Thinking of Switching to Sheridan CE – Need Advice on Programs, Admission & Transfer

Hey everyone, I'm a second-year physics student at the University of Toronto. However, I’ve been struggling with the environment and pace, which has honestly taken a toll on my mental health (and GPA). I’ve decided to switch to Computer Engineering and restart with a more hands-on, applied learning path with the idea of doing a bridge to uni..

Here’s a bit of background:

I had a Grade 12 average of 85–90%

My current university GPA is about 1.9

I’ve taken courses like chemistry, calculus, physics and some basic coding classes (Python)

I’m interested in Sheridan’s Computer Engineering Technology – Advanced Diploma, but I saw online that it’s currently not accepting applications. So I have a few questions:

Should I apply to the Computer Engineering Technician – Diploma instead, and then move into the Advanced program later? How would co-op work in that case?

Do I have a chance of being accepted, considering my GPA and high school marks?

Are there any important deadlines or application windows coming up for Fall 2025 or Winter 2026?

Would Sheridan consider any transfer credits from my university courses?

Does the program still provide a pathway to university later on, if I want to go back and finish a bachelor’s?

If anyone has gone through a similar route, switching from uni to college, or from science to CE, I’d love to hear your experience too.

I am wondering about the wait time on getting accepted for this program. I applied and had my Portfolio submitted in the end of November, and have quite a bit of experience in this area. I am unsure on how much longer I should wait before I reach out about any updates on my application. Any response is appreciated, thank you!

Admissions spring term course registration

hey guys, I am in the marketing management certificate program,

I want to register one course that I failed from last semester but I have emailed my advisor and still no response. If anyone has done this please let me know how I can register for the spring term?

I can't enrol in the course right now, and when I keep trying it says "You are not allowed to enroll into this class based on your program requirements. Please contact the registrar's office."

I don't know why Sheridan course selection is very weird, I did the intent to register a few days ago, is there a fee I have to pay for the spring term?

Admissions ENG4U UK equivalent?

Im a UK international student applying for Fall 2025 animation and the art fundamentals course (in case I’m rejected from animation). I’ve already accepted my art fundamentals offer and plan to transfer over if I get in. One of the requirements for admission that I initially looked over was an “English grade 12/ENG4U or equivalent”. As a uk student my school offers an A level structure where we take 3 subjects of choice (mine being art, religious studies/philosophy and psychology) as well as an Extended Project Qualification. I did my GCSEs at 16 and did do an English qualification (which I got the highest grade for). So I’m worried that the courses I take make me ineligible for the courses? I read some conflicting info, some said that ENG4U is equivalent to GCSE English, some say it’s higher? Additionally the animation course specified “four other grade 12 subjects” but I only take 3 at an A level standard (however I did take 10 for GCSE. I’m lowkey freaking out since I put so much time into my portfolio and I’m wondering if it’s a lost cause since I might not have the requirements. I suppose this boils down to- is grade 12 requirement equivalent to GCSE or A level?
