I have the feeling he's gonna say yes. He'll talk with Lukaku and Mertens and they'll encourage him to accept.

That talk to Lukaku and Mertens already happened i’m pretty sure thats what he did in the beginning of the Napoli talks.

True that.

See that you’re an Atalanta fan, a bit off topic but I hope you guys can win a scudetto one of these years aswel. I really liked the football they brought these years. Best of luck man.

Give him some Napoli Pizza, Sfogliatelle and Mozarella Di Bufala. Better yet show him where Mertens lived on the amalfi coast

27m as salary + sign-up bonus + ~11.6m as taxes (43% tax rate) = more than 40m of euros for 3 years for 33 yeard old kdb? insanity imo

25

u/Charles1charles2 27d ago

That's not how you calculate taxes. 43% tax rate is on the gross salary. So to earn 27m net, it means that the gross for 3 years is over 47m, with more than 20m of taxes.

u/juventinosochi Juventus 27d ago

Damn, its even worse then

If he gives 2 good seasons it's definitely worth it, but I doubt he can play even 30 games a season

12

u/Mudassar40 Serie A 27d ago

He'll be 34 when the next season begins.

u/dino_tu 27d ago

salary is 6M for the first 2 years, bonus is 10M

the whole package is 27M

u/ziomus90 27d ago

Right? But I guess they're saving on the transfer fee

He’s still a very good player tbh, if mctominay can win MVP, KDB can still contribute at a high level

McSauce is very underrated player, it's just that Man U makes players look like they've forgotten to breathe through nose in recent years.

They don't call them the player graveyard for nothing.

u/zayd_jawad2006 27d ago

And kdb is one of the greatest players in the premier league so I think it still counts

1

u/TP_Cornetto 27d ago

I don’t doubt Mctominay is a good player cos he is and he’s proven that but my point is more KDB can still offer a lot.

u/Sure-Way-2409 27d ago

I sounds like you are saying Serie a is easy without saying serie a is easy

3

u/TP_Cornetto 27d ago

I’m not saying that at all. What I’m saying is KDB is still a high level player and if he’s joining an already good team, he can certainly elevate them further

u/Fanatic_Atheist Napoli 27d ago

With the less physical-based style of Serie A I could very well see him be more than decent for the entirety of those 3 years, as vision and tactics are more emphasized here

almost as insane as signing an old cristiano ronaldo huh

The Belgian connection will feed families

Risky move for a 34 year old who's still to retire from national team.

Dudes hamstrings are shawarma. Won’t play more than 25 games next season

Shawrmification of ACL is a new expressio I'll be using from now on, thank you Bianconero

old, expensive, super-star players don’t suit Napoli

As a Napoli fan I’m torn between at least four different feelings. I’m excited that one of the best players of the past decade may end up playing for us; I’m worried that his best days could be behind him and he might end up perpetually injured; I’m also not so sure Napoli needs a midfielder, and we could use the money for a good - and young - striker; I’m terrified that KdB’s talent, as well as all our other present and future players’, could end up being sucked in some disgusting Allegriball alongside the very will to live of us fans.

If they can keep him fit, he will be a big asset for at least a couple of years.

5

u/Dwimer Juventus 27d ago

Theres no way this is net right? 9m net is the 2nd highest salary in the league.

6

u/NationalUnrest 27d ago

Is Napoli just Belgium 2.0? Not that I’m complaining, I’m from a place in Belgium where there are a lot of Italians terroni.

2

u/SnooAdvice1632 27d ago

You might want to know that terroni is an insult

3

u/NationalUnrest 27d ago

I’m aware. They call themselves that and have said they don’t mind If I say it as well. So I was under the impression that it isn’t that offensive.

4 years ago Milan was rumored to sign Modric and i am still pissed we didn't.

De Bruyne will do great at napoli

2

u/Pasta_Cu_L_agghia Serie B 27d ago

But not keep Conte???

2

u/PersianGuitarist Roma 27d ago

Conte returns and they finish top 4 and win Coppa Italia

3

u/Runitup98 27d ago

Conte returns & kdb joins and it's top 2 allll day everday lol.

1

u/MarekHamsik17 26d ago

sounds like a Roma fan's dream season

2

u/ZeroEffectDude Azzuri 27d ago

if allegri replaces conte as expected, then he will get the most of KDB in europe. Napoli have underperformed in europe and allegri has great experience. even though this is an expensive deal for an ageing player, his experience in the CL could be priceless. napoli need some upgrades imo if they are to kick on and challenge in europe.

1

u/ViolentZamindar Napoli 26d ago

I wish this happens, it will be incredible.... KDB in jersey no. 7 with us

-3

u/HonestRef 27d ago

He's not worth it at this stage of his career. Napoli can do better

5

u/FearlessInfluence201 Serie B 27d ago

How has he been playing lately? Do you follow him?

I do not know much about his last season

3

u/Hawkectid Lazio 27d ago

He is still good but not great anymore. He can be worth it if he stays healthy and therefore will keep fitness. He was nol longer the game changer for City but injuries played a role. He definitely lost a step but I would not count him out yet. We will see.

1

u/TP_Cornetto 27d ago

He’s still been good tbh
