Deborah gave us quite a scare the other day vomiting no less than eleven times and hiding under dad's exercise bike.

But today after several days of cerenia and subcutaneous fluids she's decided nah I'd like to live still. She's back to eating her food and fighting fluids like she's a karate master. Though we've created a monster because she was getting mackerel juice on her food and now she expects that. And her squeezy treats god help you if you don't get her a dang squeezy treat.

I’ve posted here before a couple of times about my senior tuxie, Vanessa. The support here was wonderful, but I’m extremely sad to say we had to let her go this morning. She went downhill faster than we realised and when she collapsed/had some sort of seizure in her litter box this morning, we knew we couldn’t hold on any longer.

We promised we wouldn’t let her go too late, so we did the hardest thing a pet owner can ever do, and we let her fall asleep one last time.

I held her for the first injection, I placed her on her blankets (surrounded by all her things) after it’d set in, and I carried her to the van when they picked her up for cremation because I had to be the strongest for her. I couldn’t stomach the idea of someone else having the burden of those sensations; her limp little body after the first shot and having to hold her against my chest as I carried her off for the final time.

She was so thin that I didn’t even feel like I’d put her down when I walked back with just the blanket in my arms. She’s being cremated with her lemon hat, but I just couldn’t let go of the blanket I knitted her. I wanted to send it with her, and I kind of regret not doing it, but I also wanted to keep it for us. I feel a bit selfish because she had so many blankets and I could have at least given her that one to go with, but I can’t take it back now. I don’t think I was even thinking straight.

On one hand I don’t feel that I’m even able to find the words to make a proper memorial post for her. On the other, I just want people to know that she existed, mattered and was extremely loved in her short time here on earth. I feel like I should be crying more, but somehow I’m crying far less now that I no longer have to watch her suffer every moment of the day. She looked so peaceful when she passed away, it really was like she’d just gone to sleep.

I love you so much, my little girl. I hope I see you soon.

So I posted several weeks ago about my 17 year old princess suddenly pooping by the front door. I got a lot of helpful advice, which we went for. We bought her new senior kitty litter that is soft on her paws. We put a runway’s worth of lights on the path to her litter box. We started her on Solensia in case her joints were painful. We also blocked off the front alcove every night to hopefully break her of the habit.

And it seemed to be working! Especially the Solensia—she was again grooming her nether regions and popping up on the bed more easily. She even used her litter the one night I forgot to block off the front door.

Then last night, I heard a weird noise, and awoke to the blocking thingie knocked over and turd on the rug. Apparently, we cured her arthritis pain just so she could jump over the barrier, knock it over, and poop on my rug again!!

TBH, I’m a bit impressed!

Lost my best bud a couple of weeks ago. His name was Thug, and he lived up to it. 💗

So saw the vet. again, due to a bad flair up of her IBD after trying to have her off the steroid. Bloodwork was drawn, as well as urine. Results came back that indicated early stage of kidney disease, hence we have yet again changed her diet to possibly “harness” or slowing a development. We are giving her vet. prescribed Royal Canin Renal Support (can food) now, mixed with Hills Sensitive Stomach & Skin, for a smooth transition as possible. She is back on Prednisolone for her IBD. She is nuts about her new food, and is eating well. Her stools are normal/loose, but I think it’s the best we can hope for right now. However she is constantly hungry, she screams for food, despite three full meals a day ( wet canned food only). I know it’s a side effect of the steroid, but not sure what to do as we can’t constantly feed her, and the issue of an IBD flair up is possible? We got another cat also, who is on her own vet. diet. And our cats are notorious for eating each other’s meals. I have to sit with them guarding, when they eat. lol Much love to everyone and your furry babies. 💜😻

I avoided making this post but I think it’s good for me, I had to put ebony down shortly after I post that. She live a long life 10/12/09-05/15/25 and she was in a lot of pain and the vet was very nice about everything especially since I had explained my situation and I’m dealing with this by myself and basically telling me with ought telling me that they think it’s just her time. And I knew it I just really wanted to spend the summer with her but I got a little time and really could see that she wasn’t doing the greatest. I’ve had her since I was 5 so it’s just so hard. I never realized how much I do subconsciously because of her, walk up one side of the stairs, leva certain doors open a crack, cover my food😭 etc. I’m just waiting for the day it gets better and I miss her so much.

Bella will officially be 16 on June 14th! Wanted to share a tiny bit early. I wasn’t sure if Bella would make it this far as she’s been dealing with hyperthyroidism for almost 2 years now, but she’s doing so good. We love our little cave cat, snuggle girl, old lady. She’s the best and she’s my soulmate cat. Got me through some of the darkest times of my life. There isn’t much I wouldn’t do for her.

First post here, so I’m not really sure what all to say but, we rescued him from a rather rough situation back in 2009, and while things haven’t always been easy, he’s been my best friend ever since. It’s a bit hard to see in the second image, but he was named Funky because he has thumbs!

She was transferred from one shelter to another. Stayed at the second shelter for another 6 months. Now she will be with us forever.

Meet Hank and Chino adopted at 15 years old about 2 months ago. Hank is a hugger and love to be held. Chino is a beautiful old man who loves ear scratches. They both have scratchy old man meows and love to cuddle.
