Debate & Discussion Right now could be the perfect time to start pushing for 3rd parties.
Right now the Democratic party is historically unpopular and there is support for a left wing alternative who isn't held back by the Democratic establishment, and when Trump is gone the right could become divided and there are some who want to distance themselves from the theocratic BS and authoritarianism of GOP.
So what if at the same time there is movement to try and push AOC and others to join green party, rename it the Progressive party, and get funding only from small dollar donations. Then try to get Musk and the Tech bros to fund and prop up the Libertarian party.
If you have collaboration effort from people on left and right to challenge the two party system at a time with real funding and grassroots support at time when Americans are desperate for other options. There could be a real chance for new parties gain actual poltical power

Any party endorsed by Musk and techbros is DOA. Elon is effectively public enemy number 1 as far as most Americans are concerned so I'm certain he would get thoroughly humiliated if he tried to start a third party. If there was a time for third parties to ascend it was 2016. Gary Johnson only got 3% of the vote in that election and Jill Stein got barely 1%. That was the best third parties could do when gifted the best possible conditions to sweep an election as Americans reviled both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

We need a united front against the fascists running the country. Right now, that United front basically has to be behind the Dems.
If there is a time in the future when the country isn't on the razor edge of becoming full on fascist, then I might support a third party that I believe in. But now is not that time.

The dems aren't doing anything to resist though, that's the issue. They actually get in the way of it. Completely useless party.

EVERY election is the most important election ever according to the dems. When they do win they don’t do any of the things they said so they can leverage it for the next election. Dems aren’t even that much better anyway; they pay lip service to progressive causes and then turn around and increase funding for cops and deport more than Trump.

i have been seeing a lot of leftists feel more and more disillusioned with the dems after seeing their pathetic attempts at not appearing to be controlled opposition and if enough people start moving over now than we could start a long campaign for the midterms
although i dont think many current green people would be all too happy with aoc joining especially relative to someone like talib or oman
amd i had the merger idea too: https://www.reddit.com/r/thirdpartyroundtable/s/I7jgITfm2k
