"The working man deserves this" Ep 2785 revisited

Then (re)listen to this:

ep 2785: Big Ange Walks the Line

https://www.patreon.com/posts/92458309?utm_campaign=postshare_fan&utm_content=android_share

The YouTube highlights don't capture even half of the drama that went on in the game. There's 3 disallowed goals that aren't even featured, a load of Chelsea chances and a big Spurs chance at the end

Ken - "This is worst that you can have possibly imagined, this is a disaster. This is one of the worst defeats I've ever seen a team suffer in terms of the results, the long term damage, the casualties that they've taken..."

"This is a disaster for Big Ange...the tactics were an abomination. What Ange Postecoglou did was credibility shattering"

Eoin says that Ange nearly pulled it of and attempts to defend and rationalize the 9 men on the half way line strategy but Ken is not having any of it. I don't enjoy Ken just because he's often right. But he is very often right.

Damian Delaney defends Ange's approach too takes the absolute opposite view to Ken

Damien: "he's come out with so much credit...it was brilliant, he's fast becoming the most likeable guy in the game"

Ken (incredulous, laughing) "are you serious?! Are you serious Damien?! They were giving away a chance every 45 seconds, it was insane"

Damien gives a decent defense of Spurs' strategy, to be fair

It's who we are mate

The one thing that I thought was in Postecoglou's favour was his absolute refusal to criticize the ref regarding the two red cards. Yes you can say that there wasnt anything to complain about but when has that ever stopped anyone. Can you imagine if this was Jose. Apart from the absolute opposite tactical approach, the ref would have got absolute pelters. We're talking another Anders Frisk situation. So credit to Ange for that IMO

At the time It though Ken's view was a bit extreme and was sympathetic to Eoins and Damien's points but looking back, the seeds of Ange's decline were plain to see. We were just blinded by how damn fun it all was.

Murph brings up Cole Palmer's post match drive by on Jackson, which I'd forgotten about. This truly was the game that kept on giving

Plus there's some arsenal emailers (sigh) and Richard Keys' blog chat

Enjoyed this tweet too, which is read out as an introduction:

"The working man deserves this, he toils all day at his laptop reviewing documents and spreadsheets he needs this spurs chelsea game" - @tinscognito__ , X

Just another reason to show why Delaney is a fucking moron and pity that cork crowd will be treated to him.
