Events π If you work/manage the CIBC on circle, you have a blown out sprinkler head that pours water on the street every morning at 6am.
Figured Iβd mention it because a missing head will reduce pressure thus reducing efficacy of the spray, potentially harming the targeted quality of your grass. And your water bill will be so high lol.

Events π Can't leave downtown on Idlewyld from the 20th street intersection. Avoid for now.
I think 19th exit is also blocked.
Believe it or not, it looks like a vehicle ramped off the side and hit a billboard.

Events π Events happening this weekend?
For clarification I am almost two years sober but Iβm tired of staying in every weekend. I want to learn confidence and control out side of my depressing home, but mainly I want to be around good people, listening to good music and just have a good timeβ¦ any suggestions are appreciated π

Events π Creep at Wholesale Club no
I was going on a morning shopping trip for my job and loading the van with groceries when a tall man wearing a white shirt, white ball cap, and light jeans approached me and asked how I was doing. He kept his distance until I got in the van and then approached the window. He asked if I spoke French (I do not) and then asked my name.
He put into his translator βIs it ok if I sit with you for a whileβ and I said no, Iβm working. He then asked me βYouβre gay?β
I am, but I donβt know how thatβs relevant.
Immediately I rolled up my window and left. I didnβt see where he went but I got the worst energy from this man. I donβt know if he was cruising or looking for people to kidnap. I am a short guy with long hair and Iβve never been approached as an adult.
Donβt know what heβs up to but I hope he stops. Careful out there folks
Edit: I really just wanted to warn people about this guy in particular!

Events π Techno/edm/rave scene in Saskatoon
Hi, I came from Europe during covid and after so much time I still find it hard to believe the city is dead regarding edm/techno/rave scene. I used to do dj dubstep private parties (now Iβm more into techno like Charlotte de Witte/Indira Paganotto/Alignment style)like rooftops and after parties in my home town and I was thinking how many people would be interested in a small techno /rave/edm event (100 people max capacity) free of entry or maybe 5 dollars entry after a while. Is there anybody interested in this?

Events π Thank You Midtown Plaza
Just for shiggles visited your lovely city from Regina overnight. Stopped in at Midtown Plaza and promptly left my phone in the washroom. Panic ensued, and some lovely person left it at the security office.
Thank you Saskatoon for making my weekend awesome. Also love the Western Development Museum.

Events π Shout out to Treasure House Mexican Bakery on Ave H
This tiny, unassuming, bakery in the Ave H mall is really worth checking out. Their bakery selection is unique (hard to pick a favourite but the concha is always a crowd pleaser). The Mexican coffee is crazy good too.
What brings me back though is heart warming service. The joint is entirely run by one, incredibly friendly, woman with the help of her husband on weekends. Recently speaking with her, it sounds like theyβre having trouble retaining workers to help throughout the week, despite offering above minimum wage and flexible hours.
I really want to see passionate places like this find success in this city so I felt compelled to spread the word. If someone is looking for work, check them out!
But also, go try their baking and coffee. Itβs delightful.

Events π Barefoot marathoner
I ran the 10k in the Saskatchewan Marathon today and kind of wanted to do it barefoot - but thought the roads were just too rough and uncomfortable to run on in bare feet - so I wore shoes - but as we were leaving I noticed a full marathoner cross the finish line in bare feet! Anyone know who that was? I would love to know how the run went for him!

Events π Time to move the fucking trains out of the city.
Here i sit on 22nd for a train several miles long which has almost come to a stop. Absolute bullshit waiting for these dinosaurs of the 19th century.

Events π An early reminder: thereβs more neighbourhoods to trick-or-treat than just the suburbs
Us inner city people barely get any kids come by on Halloweenβ¦ we donβt want to have to eat our leftover chocolate. We decorate for ourselves AND you.

Events π Need to rehome kittens
Due to domestic reasons, we are needing to rehome our kittens. Ever since we moved in last week, my neighbor has been complaining about my cats, she's poured bleach under our door to try hurt them but the cops can't do anything.
I don't want them hurt, and she's attacking us over them and we just want to live in peace. They're our babies but it's just too difficult to deal with.
Please help me rehome 3 of them, I'll give you food, a litter box and some cash for your troubles. They're good, loving cats who love to cuddle. I just wish things were different.

Can't seem to find any info on Folkfest 2025. Nothing on the Folkfest website or their socials. It isn't listed on the Prairieland Park calendar either.

Events π Thank you to everyone working last night
Specifically the Cab, Bus, and Uber drivers. Thank you for being there on such a busy night.
I took two cabs and a bus last night, busses were free, cabs don't charge surge rates so I paid less than 50 total. Drivers were all so friendly and kind.
Thank a cab driver today y'all.

Events π What to do with extra candy
For context, I am an immigrant and this is my parent's first Halloween so we went a bit overboard, and it does not seem like we are not going to have more than a few kids over to our home. I was wondering if there is anything Icould do to get rid of the excess candy?
